this is very insightful @jburnmurdoch , thankyou. i have found the last 20 hrs distressing (1) because the "slip up" here is already triggering real world consequences, and (2) some of the protagonists have form (notably @BBCWorld), suggesting bias
if true (not just that the source was a Jihad rocket, but the limited death toll, and so forth), then @BBCWorld @nytimes and all the political leaders who piled in last night are complicit in one of the great propaganda coups of the digital age. Serious soul searching please
