Long ride (for me, this year) today. Spent the last hour debugging Garmin’s REST API. GET /legs/status returns "nonfunctional" GET /motivation returns null Still waiting on PUT /tacos. Turns out it doesn’t actually help you rest.

Rep. Tim Burchett tries a new way to find some bipartisan cheer, with special guest George Santos. “I thought 15 minutes was just enough to get them in and get them out,” Burchett said. “They get a little Christmas cheer and they’re out the door.” wapo.st/4gmTWw3

⁦@CTDOTOfficial⁩ want to send more crash responders home safely after their shift? Design safer roads that cause fewer, less violent crashes. #trafficviolenceisachoice

With a university campus across the street and thousands of undergrads, this is what hostile #pedestrian architecture looks like. Nearest crosswalk is 1/4 mile and no sidewalks on this side @CTDOTOfficial

Yet another disappointing transaction with @MandT_Bank. Nice people, terrible processes.

Challenge: riding with 5 other cyclists, all better riders. Stress: flatting when you’re the red lantern. Tension: fixing it as they watch. Pressure: having 3 of them be bike mechanics discussing your approach. #PressureNoPressure

Found three small bearings on the floor under my desk. Nothing in or near my desk has bearings that I can see. Likelihood this will wake me up at 3am?

And for planners and product folks that means being aware of bias by always asking, “who is NOT in the room” before drawing any conclusions.
The frigid Iowa caucuses are an extreme example of an important thing about all physical public meetings: No matter how packed the room is, you’re listening to a small number of highly motivated people. You will never hear from an ordinary person who is too busy to attend.

Entertaining conversation in checkout line at bestbuy between two customers: Q: is your tv 4K? A: it’s new so I think so. I don’t think it’s 5k. And I know it’s not the older 3k.

Alexa needs a “heard chef” mode to reduce its verbosity when cooking.

Chili dogs should not be on the list of foods to eat just before leaving the dock on a whale watch. Not just for the diners, but for the sake of those around them too.

This is where mastery becomes obvious. Knowing what can be removed from the models and in what order without losing your audience, or how the pieces (later) come together.
Replying to @astralwave
Maybe “no-code” is the wrong frame of mind now that I think about it A better frame frame might be: How do we turn more engineering-type problems into design-type problems, by shortening the feedback loop and abstracting away incidental complexity?

I agree the echo is wasted breath, but what if you agree with what that person is saying?
One of my biggest pet peeves in team meetings with leadership: When people echo and head nod the most senior person in the room. Drives me nuts. Be original. Have a unique thought.

How do you get to artisanal information and just-in-time awareness if you insist on writing single-form narratives? #onesizedoesnotfitall
