🩸 @ErikaMCheung’s first job out of college was as a scientist at the now infamous biotech company, Theranos. When she realized the company's proprietary technology wasn't delivering accurate blood results to patients, she had no choice but to speak up: lnk.to/BGvsMd

From my recent conversation with Amir Levine: For years, scientists believed our attachment styles were largely shaped by early childhood and fixed over time. But emerging research suggests we have more room to grow than we once thought: lnk.to/Tvab3L

A few readers have taken me to task for “missing the point of the film,” which is apparently that Elizabeth Holmes is unknowable and everything is ambiguous. Here’s my response: She went after Tyler Shultz and Erika Cheung with everything she had. I was threatened with litigation on a daily basis for months on end. It was a ruthless cover-up of a breathtaking fraud, and she was at the controls. Just a little context for those who have forgotten or didn’t follow the original story. By the way, I loved the film. #BestPicture, IMO.

I actually enjoyed “You can see everything” but people need to understand that this is not a documentary. And the device Elizabeth showed Nathan WAS NOT THE DEVICE

🎻 @guptaviolin grew up performing on the biggest stages, but the pressure to play perfectly made him lose his love of the violin. Then he began playing in homeless shelters & mental health clinics, and learned audiences want connection, not perfection: lnk.to/N2dAF1

Allow me for a moment to be one of those U.S. Open fashion influencers you've heard so much about. I'm wearing this t-shirt (designed by Craig Shapiro and Complex) to the 2026 U.S. Open men's final because Alexander Zverev was going around ATP locker rooms in 2021 telling the other players that, not only had the accusations against him been proven false, but that I was soon to be spending six months in prison for reporting his ex-girlfriend's story. It's hard to say which of those two claims of his was less true. Five years later, and not a day behind bars, I'm still here. I'm still covering this sport I love. I'm still free. I'm still independent. I'm still unafraid to speak the truth while others remain silent (particularly on the TV side of tennis media). Maybe I do far too much on this topic, you think, but I'd say it's only because I think nearly everyone else is doing far too little. I still believe Olya and Brenda. I'm also wearing this because of how much I value the laws of America, particularly around freedoms and protections of the press. No matter how flawed America is, there's a lot to be grateful for here. Here's wishing Ben Shelton lots of luck in the U.S. Open men's final; the only reason I'm covering this match at all is because he's in it, with a chance at history for American men's tennis. Whether Shelton wins or loses today, he's a player that tennis can be proud of, with a clear conscience.
