Today during a U-15 World Cup match between England and the Republic of Ireland, England players walked off the pitch, abandoning the match at when they were 4-1 down after 40 minutes, due to an alleged racist attack from one of the Irish players. After a row broke out following a challenge on an English lad, the Irish and English came together in a scuffle which then left 2 English lads stating to the ref that one of them had been called a 'Monk*y' from one of the opposing team...
It is important to state that on the recording, no remarks can be heard and there isn't much of a reaction from the group apart from the lads who went to the referee. The other English lads around them don't seem to have noticed the comment.
The Irish are profusely denying the racist attack happened, and we are hoping it is just a misunderstanding between the parties. Such a horrid thing to happen in a game with lads 14 years old...
This isn’t the first time we’ve read a similar story of cases being deferred or quashed to suit the interests of criminal immigrants trying to get citizenship.
