China’s Ministry of Public Security and the FBI have jointly cracked a cross-border drug case involving synthetic cannabinoid precursors. Chinese police arrested 21 suspects in August, while two US suspects had earlier been arrested for allegedly using the chemicals to make drugs and distribute them to inmates in US prisons.

Perhaps of interest to @anishinaboy
When lines ice up — like they did in southwestern Manitoba this week — we have a number of ways to clean it off. This is what ice melting looks like. We create a short, the line heats up, and the ice falls off. Crews in the icy southwest will be de-icing this weekend. Drive safe!

Good thread
The people saying the Doctrine of Discovery doesn't matter now are the same who said appealing to the Governor-General won't work; defenders of a narrow view of colonialism who promote economic development as reconciliation...

Couldn't agree more ... she is terrific.
Ashley Lawrence is by far the most successful Canadian player overseas and is legitimately one of the best fullbacks in the world. I honestly don’t understand why she isn’t celebrated more. She should be the face of the #canwnt/#canxnt

"Bragging is their strong suit." 🙂

Real money? Are you kidding? These people know they came to the outdated G7 summit for empty talk. Bragging is their strong suit.
Another reasonable question
Are the U.S. and allies weaponizing infrastructure construction as a tool to challenge China, not for the benefits of the people?
Reasonable question.
BRICS has 3.2 billion of population. G7 only 777 million. So who should represent the global community?
Nice succinct summary
The US wants to keep the Pacific "free from coercion"? Here's where to start: 1️⃣ End US colonial occupation of Hawai'i, Guam, American Samoa and the Northern Mariana Islands. 2️⃣ Remove US troops, bases and weapons from Okinawa, Japan and South Korea. 3️⃣ Dismantle AUKUS.

Although only a small minority of countries heeded the US call to recognize Juan Guaido, several have since reverted their decision and restored official ties with the constitutional government of Venezuela. When will an increasingly isolated Canada join the rest of the world?
Well said.
Don’t blame people who didn’t vote. They were clearly not inspired by anyone. That’s on the politicos who used polls instead of principles. #OntarioElection2022

I think Martin is spot on with this little thread
Biden is in Asia to drum up support for US's answer to China's Belt and Road. Prediction: it will be a miserable failure. China enjoys huge economic support in East Asia because it started in the early 90s and its market is huge. The US doesn't even offer market access. 1/3

When it comes to war, the Western media propaganda system incentivizes and rewards conformity, and punishes those who challenge the official narrative. It's a corrupt system where there are no clear lines between "journalism," corporations and government. It's basically just PR.

Not Deemed Progressive
let's be honest, the NDP would also have supported new military spending without their deal with the Liberals
