I watched the woman beside me bag a bunch of carrots without ever putting them on the scale. After she finished I said, “Produce usually needs to be weighed.” She held up a small printed sticker. “I used the scale in the produce section. This sticker has the weight and price already on it.” Carrots, $1.89, right there. I decided the rest of my shopping did not require commentary.

I believed more tools would make me faster. After simplifying to only the ones I actually used daily, my output went up. The extra apps had been creating decisions, not removing them. Fewer options turned out to be a performance advantage.
