The #GAAYouth Forum was a great success with young people from all over the country attending a series of workshops & getting an opportunity to have their say at the Youth Congress. Thanks to all workshop facilitators & well done to the Youth Committee for organising the event.
The lovely folks from The Soar Foundation were with us this week, facilitating Workshops for our TY students 👏 helping the group bond and creating a safe space for the group to discover who they are and what they can achieve 🌏 #WeAreSalle

Leaving Certs: Breathe. Take it all in. Today could be a good day, a bad day, or a day that doesn't mean much to you. Tears, laughs or worries, whatever way the day has met you, that piece of paper and this day will never define you. Congratulations on whatever is next!

Wise words from alumni facilitator Ronan Conway speaking to @RadioBrendanRTE!
Shocking but unsurprising figures coming from @publichealthie - we are regularly seeing widespread expressions of loneliness across schools in Ireland at the age of 16.
Ireland has highest levels of loneliness in Europe - the first ever EU-wide survey on loneliness has found the highest levels of loneliness in Ireland with over 20% of respondents reporting feeling lonely, followed by Luxemburg, Bulgaria and Greece.
The lowest levels are observed in the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Croatia and Austria (all below 10%). A similar geographical pattern was observed for data collected during the pandemic.
Across Europe, the survey found that on average, 13% of respondents report feeling lonely most or all of the time over the past four weeks, while 35% report being lonely at least some of the time.
