This (great) article puzzles over the class's sudden popularity. It's not "because of AI encroaching on their autonomy."
Tt's because recent student cohorts have become significantly more conservative, and caning the Western canon is no longer in vogue
“It’s the only class I took at Harvard where people would call each other out for not having done the reading.”
Harvard students are lining up to take Hum 10:
“Applications (essays required) shot up 40% this fall with 180 incoming freshmen vying for 90 spots.”
“The class is definitely not for padding the GPA. Students read a hefty book a week and write regular essays. There is no pass/fail option. Digital devices are verboten, and attendance is taken in every lecture (pink slips for those who arrive late).”
“In their applications and in interviews, students expressed the urge to be forced to tackle classics they otherwise wouldn’t read, the need to combat frayed attention spans and the desire for an antidote to The Machine. Several mentioned with disdain that people who aren’t in the class wondered why they didn’t ‘just Chat the books,’ i.e., use AI.”

Today, @JudgmentLabs opens for general access.
We believe long running agent systems will generate more exhaust data than the world can currently process.
Hidden within agent traces are rich records of how to make these systems better: what users ask for, when agents stumble, and how agents interact with the external world.
Judgment is the most performant monitoring and improvement layer for long-horizon agents.
We’re excited to see what you build!

Remember when Ilhan Omar deleted that 2013 tweet calling her father Nur Said?
That would make her name Ilhan Nur Said, and her ex-husband was Ahmed Nur Said, which means she did in fact marry her brother.
Fast forward to today, and the federal search warrant lists her as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, also known as Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.”
OOF! She is soooo COOKED! 😬
Incredible story. The most surreal part is how certain online circles have made praising the US anathema
The internet told them Europe was a social paradise. Turns out the trains are awful, the health care isn’t free, and people can be really mean. buff.ly/5cLtnha
(1/n) I post-trained Qwen on a set of news sources and subjected the resulting models to a battery of political ideology tests. The models exhibited significant differences in political leanings, and the differences align with existing ratings of the underlying news sources.
(6/n) The results replicate our existing understanding of media biases (Breitbart on the far right, HuffPost on the far left, The Hill somewhere in between) and are highly correlated with AllSides ratings
I met Dylan during my first few weeks at Stanford. He is very very smart.
Introducing Catalyst.
What do you believe? How would you trade on it?
You notice data centers are popping-up everywhere, gold will skyrocket, or just know that Labubus will go out of fashion.
Catalyst researches your ideas, builds the optimal strategy, monitors events, and executes trades. Autonomously.

Has @elder_plinius figured out the model and system prompt for america.gov?
Claude sent me back to the Stone Age (Sonnet 4.6) for asking it to simply decode a message in Rot13.
It had nothing to do with biology.
Sonnet 4.6 also refused.
