From Osoyoos BC: As you can see, thick smoke is rolling in from the south & the smell of forest fire is strong. This isn't from a fire in Canada, it's from a big fire in Nespelem, Washington state, but we're not complaining. Know why? Because we understand how fire, wind, & the jetstream work. Hoping our southerly neighbors in Washington stay safe & obey evac orders. Prayers up for those in harm's way.

Tone deaf, defensive, arrogant and unwilling to thoughtfully consider any criticisms levied against him from Clubs, Agents and Players. Parros thinks he and his slick group of video producers are doing a great job for the game! A train wreck of comments. I rest my case.
NHL DoPS head George Parros responding to Connor McDavid's call for an examination of the suspension process: “We sweat over these decisions and pour over these decisions every night, all season long. We have a process in place that’s consistent, and we have a team that works for me, and together with me, that evaluates all these plays. A very experienced team, a veteran team. Guys that have been there since the beginning of the department. Not to mention all the former players that have a large set of experiences playing NHL games, accolades. Some of the best guys that have played the game work for this department help make decisions. So, our process, I feel very confident in. We’ve got great guys who make these decisions, and I think the players should be confident in this team to do so.”

I know 97 & 29 would lose their minds over this…. Even Daryl Katz would not stand for it but I was saying to a friend last night…..
In the perfect world if I was Stan Bowman, I’d keep the powder dry and make no moves at the deadline. This team is so far away from contending that an even acquiring a defencemen at the deadline is not going to help them.
You run this lineup to the playoffs (hope you make it) and live with the result.
Then in the off season, the handcuffs of the NMC are gone, over $20 million+ in cap space AND then you force Nurse to be moved. That’s when you retool the team. A long summer could be a benefit health wise to this team as well.
But you know that will never happen but that is what actually needs to happen….. IMO
