Telephone Conversation Between the Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Japan Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Toshimitsu Motegi, Foreign Minister of Japan, discussed developments in the region during a telephone conversation on Monday afternoon. They addressed the military aggression of the U.S. and the Zionist regime against Iran, as well as its regional and global impacts and consequences. The Foreign Minister of Iran, referring to the criminal nature of the actions taken by the U.S. and the Zionist regime in attacking Iran, noted that the international community's appeasement of this brutal aggression creates a dangerous precedent in the international system. Araghchi added, "The Islamic Republic of Iran will stand with full strength and determination against the military aggression of the U.S. and the Zionist regime and will defend itself. However, this does not negate the responsibility of the international community, including Japan, to unequivocally condemn this military aggression and the war crimes committed by the aggressors." The Foreign Minister stated, "Good relations with neighbors are very important for Iran, but we cannot allow the United States to attack us from its bases in the region. Our defensive measures are not aimed at our neighbors; rather, we target the origin and source of aggression." Araghchi emphasized, "This war is not only against Iran but against the entire region. The critical situation in the region, including the Strait of Hormuz, is also a result of the military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime." The Japanese Foreign Minister, while expressing condolences and sympathy for the Iranian people, voiced concern about the continuation and spread of the crisis. He emphasized that necessary efforts must be made to reduce tensions and that he is in contact with his counterparts in the region to continue his efforts in this regard.
