We had our Gr. 3 liturgy this morning. In science we learned about the difference between natural & manmade structures. We started presenting our plant projects. In music we learned that there are many different genres of music (blues, etc.) Look for email about our field trip!
In gym we learned a little about badminton. Serving the birdie is the hardest part! In science we started presenting our plant projects. Finally we learned what independent learning is all about. Tomorrow is a PD Day. Look for blog post on Sunday.
We had our first day of EQAO. We did math first & then language. Tomorrow we start with language and finish with math. Please help me get a good night sleep & have a healthy breakfast! We are ready for tomorrow!
Monday is the start of EQAO. Please have a nutritious breakfast and get lots of sleep on Sunday night! We are going to do so well!
In gym we played Battleship. We finished up a few things for Mother's Day. In language we started our outline for our persuasive writing. We had our probability SWYK! Homework due tomorrow.
In Language we started learning about persuasive writing. It is when we try to convince another person to think like we do. We did more work on probability and used fractions & a number line to help us. Finally we had reading buddies & Praying In Colour! Open House tomorrow a.m.
At our assembly we celebrated how much money was raised for SchoolBox. St. Isabel raised over $3000! In math we used probability to see if a game is fair or not. Our last set of WWW-could, should, would, weather, whether. Tues. is Boggle, reading buddies & Praying in Colour.
In gym we played bombardment (precision, agility & accuracy). We started learning about probability which is the chance of something happening/occuring. We wrote cinquain poems in language. Don't forget to place orders for Scholastic by Tuesday! Bring EQAO homework tomorrow.
In family life we learned about being part of a community, we all have to do our part. We worked on a reading comprehension (poetry) called Bad Mood Blues. We are almost finished our money unit - tomorrow is our SWYK! Book orders coming home - due next Tues.
In gym we played Key Keeper! In math we worked on counting groups of coins. We did a reading comprehension of a poem called The Pizza Beast 🍕. We are almost done writing our acrostic poems. Return green forms, EQAO homework & money for tickets tomorrow!
In health we learned about bus safety. One thing we learned is to stop, look & listen to the bus driver. We finished our SWYK for time. Tomorrow we start $. We started learning about poetry in language. Some different types are: acrostic, haiku, lyrical, narrative & rhyming.
We did more work on writing our narrative stories. Some students have started writing their good copy in BookCreator. We had a whole school Easter liturgy hosted by the kindergarten team. In math we started our new unit on time. EQAO homework book #2 due on Friday.
We played Bombardment in gym. In math we had our fraction SWYK. Next up is time. We took up our 1st EQAO homework. Book #2 is coming home & is due next Friday. Look for my special Easter egg in my bag! Happy Easter, see you on Tues.🐰
In science we started learning about plants. We are working on writing our own narratives. We are trying to remember to write in paragraph format. In math we finished our learning about fractions, tomorrow is our SWYK. Bring in finished colouring contest entries & EQAO homework.
We made some beautiful art for Easter next week! We are bringing our first homework book home today. It is due next Thursday. Tomorrow is Earth Hour from 8:30-9:30 p.m. - turn off your lights, go for a family walk or play a game by candlelight!
In science we had our forces SWYK. We will be learning about forces of nature next. We did more work on pattern rules in math. In language we wrote a paragraph about kindness. Friday is the bake sale and cake raffle. We are also celebrating Valentine's Day on Fri.
In religion we talked about being a light in other people's lives. We did some catch-up in math on patterning. We have new WWW (by, buy, bye, one, won) and we wrote a sentence for each. Please look at my writing in our workspace. Friday is our bake sale!
In gym we played a few new games (Pacman & Earth, Wind & Fire). We are still working on our animal research projects (3 paragraphs, each paragraph about a specific topic). In math we learned about Venn diagrams. Tomorrow is a PD Day. Mon. we have JungleSport!
In religion we talked about how Jesus is a light for us. Our challenge is to be a light for someone else. We had our measurement SWYK. The next unit is patterning. Our new WWWs are: probably, especially, really, usually, friendly.
