People are growing really tired of Abdul's smug, whiny, fake tough guy schtick. Angry snark works great for a couple of weeks, early in the cycle, but then you need to attenuate it and dial up the optimism and hope as you close. Now, every single clip of Abdul in memory is him with a furrowed brow looking smug and offended and angry, so it's painting one consistent picture...Abdul's a little bitch.

I'm sorry but this is bullshit. The idea that we can't get rid of the chief cuz of the Olympics? Chief doesn't run the Olympics. His people will. But right now, none of the command staff has confidence in the LAPD Chief, and he's fully clueless as to what's going on. Olympic planning right now is SO far behind, it's terrifying. They are 100000% not going to be ready for the games. LAPD is at 1995 staffing levels...the attrition is out of control, and the department is hanging by a thread under this Chief and this Mayor. I can assure you, the LAPD would be fine getting a new Chief before the Olympics, and the pipe-hitters want a new Chief ASAP.
I was asked if I’ll be making an endorsement in the LA Mayor’s race. My answer? I’m extremely concerned about any candidate making public statements about firing a Chief of Police and appointing George Gascón. We need to know where each candidate stands on every issue.

We are just about at the 2 year mark since the fires and only 1% of fire survivors have returned. This is far and away the slowest fire recovery in state history. Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass should never be allowed to run anything ever again...not even a fucking gelato stand.

Don't worry guys! She's monitoring the situation!
My office is closely monitoring reports of increased ICE presence in the Valley and throughout our district. Know your rights. Stay informed. Resources are available. CHIRLA Hotline: 888-624-4752 to report ICE activity or seek assistance. LA County Office of Immigrant Affairs: 800-593-8222 to learn if you qualify for free immigration legal representation.

And Karen Bass is an expert on unacceptable answers…
"I don't know" is not an acceptable answer when it comes to keeping 3.8 million people safe.

We have a communist violence problem. If you dare to run for office as a normal person, the commies legit want to kill you for having the audacity to challenge their power. This only goes one way.
This is very disappointing. My family has been threatened, my wife has been subjected to racist comments, and I’ve been attacked over my appearance. Now we’re being called fascists in front of a large crowd. Disagree with my positions all you want. That’s part of running for public office. But there’s a difference between debating policy and encouraging this kind of hostility. In 13 days, this election will be over, and we’ll all still be neighbors. We can disagree about the future of Costa Mesa without treating each other like enemies. Let’s focus on the issues facing our city instead of rhetoric designed to divide us.

For ANYONE from LA, this is such an easy answer. Chief Charlie Beck. Every Angeleno knows that. But Nithya isn't from here. She has ZERO clue about our history. She doesn't have a replacement in mind cuz she doesn't want cops at all. She's a defund the police moron.
NEW: Who is an example of a police chief that Nithya Raman really respects or admires? "I don't know...I don't know." Raman is now apologizing for her recent debate remarks that LAPD Chief Daryl Gates was a "gold standard" for his handling of immigration. Critics accuse Gates of racist policies. "It was a mistake to reference his name at all. I was trying to make a point and I fumbled that point. That point was not to praise Daryl Gates in any shape or form. I sincerely apologize for mentioning his name. I know it causes real pain for so many people across Los Angeles and I shouldn't have said it." Raman has said she wants to dismiss current LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell but has not floated any names of potential replacements. We'll have a lot more with Raman coming soon on @CNNTheStoryIs

The Prop 40 “billionaire tax” that Conman Khanna has been pushing is so disastrously dumb, it’s already killed $36 BILLION in tax revenue and it hasn’t even PASSED. Just the mere prospect of it has already ushered in the predictable consequences that Rohit claims are “made up”
this California wealth tax thing is just incredible. so in October 2025, a California healthcare union proposed a "one time" 5% tax on any billionaire's wealth. the ballot measure will be voted on next month. In early December 2025, California announced that it would be a retroactive tax if passed, applying to anyone with CA residency as of Jan 1, 2026. The objective is to pay for Medi-Cal, California's incredibly dysfunctional healthcare system. (which also functions as a glorified welfare apparatus, but that's a discussion for another time). polls reveal that the CA electorate is split around 50/50 on the tax, but prediction markets only give Prop 40 a ~23% chance of passing (there are competing measures on the ballet that would nullify it). there are 200 billionaires in CA, worth collectively somewhere between $2.3 and $2.6 trillion. 5% of that is around $100b, accounting for a small amount of attrition. proponents of the tax forecasted a significant windfall, assuming only a 10% departure rate. supporters thought they were being clever with the retroactive concept. no billionares would leave CA in the few short months between the tax being proposed and the residency cutoff date, without the tax even having passed yet, right? well as it turns out, they did. a new paper [1] from two academics at Stanford called "The Net Present Value of the California Billionaire Tax Act", argues that not only did more billionaires leave due to the proposed tax than its proponents expected, but that the value of the tax, if it does pass, is actually negative. proponents of the tax only assumed 10% avoidance, that is, only 10% of the taxable base of targeted billionaires would leave CA within the very short Oct-Dec 2025 window. Jaros and Rauh, the Stanford academics, find that a lower bound of 28.6% of the taxable base managed to leave. just based on known departures, those departures total $577b in net worth, or $28.8b in potential tax lost. this of course does not capture everyone (many left without announcing their departure), so the authors normalize to departure rates estimated from other wealth tax events, and apply other discounts for litigation, arriving arrive at a figure of only $28-$36b in forecasted tax revenues. but this isn't all! all of the income taxes paid by the departed billionaires are also forsaken. the authors estimate that CA billionaires pay $3.3- 5.8b in annual income taxes. they assume a midpoint of $2b lost in annual collections from departed billionaires. the net present value of that lost income stream is -$68.9 billion. so when you add it all up you get: + $30b one-time tax windfall (estimated) - $69b in present value of lost future income taxes = - 38.9b overall net present value of the tax of course, this analysis is highly estimate driven. the authors simulate the parameters 100k times and find a negative NPV of the implemented tax 85 percent of the time. and if the tax doesn't pass, which it's not looking like it will, California still ended up losing at least $577b in departed net worth, and they have permanently poisoned the well with entrepreneurs who will now worry about future wealth taxes. Karen Bass went on with John Kobylt, her fiercest critic, in a desperate move to win over my voter base. It backfired. After hearing her last night, I’m no longer convinced Nithya Raman could be worse than Karen.
Karen Bass is in full desperation mode. Knowing that without sane voters, she's destined to lose to Nithya, she's trying to reach my audience...but she just can't stop lying, and her KFI appearance only made it worse. Maybe Nithya won't be so bad...

She's 100% right. Get our American jobs back from those stupid Canadians.
Actress @CherylHines is advocating for tax incentives to bring Hollywood productions back to the U.S. and the jobs that come with them. “When you’re watching a movie or TV show, for every one person you see on screen, there are thousands of people working behind them… we need to bring it back here and create those American jobs.”

Early season rains, early end to a mercifully tiny fire season. Now we can start doing some prescribed fire and clearing brush for next year.
Watch out Santa Barbara! The storm is coming in with a fury. Rain rates as high as 0.80 per hour have been reported. Please drive safely and consider delaying travel if at all possible. #CAwx #SBrain

This weirdo isn't even trying to campaign. CA dems have entirely stopped giving a damn about earning your vote. If you want better candidates, you need to hand them an L so they actually try next time. Becerra is the perfect one to hand an L to because it wouldn't hurt the party whatsoever. He's not a star. He has no political future. Nobody wants this guy. He's the 3rd string quarterback who subbed in after the leading candidate got accused of sexual assault. Give this dude an L, it won't hurt the party whatsoever, you'll still have a dem AG, dem senate, total dem monopoly on the rest of the state, but electing Hilton will provide a small check on the craziness here and actually force the next dem candidate to TRY and earn your vote 4 years from now. California desperately needs a reset. I understand not wanting to hand an L to Newsom, he's a heavy hitter, you wanna preserve his record as best you can. But this dork? Who cares about Becerra. Broom him, and run an actual star in 2030 who could be a future president.
It’s time for a Becerra Era, California. Get out there, and vote for Team Becerra!

The word "marxism" means nothing to normal people. The word "bolshevik" means nothing to normal people. The term "red-green alliance" means absolutely nothing to normal people. Y'all need to step out of esoteric academia and take a marketing class. It's COMMUNISM.
