I used to care if people used software I created. That is gone. The effort to get the software I want is so low and the features so constrained to my requirements, whats the point?
Watching my friend adopt grok bot and use for small biz has been amazing. Burning tokens and loving it.
For basic tools it is faster to just ask the agent to build exactly what you want and to work the way you want than to search for an existing solution and try to figure out how to use it.
I love my little ip kvms. This atx control board makes me love them even more. gl-inet.com/en-us/products/a…
How do we quantify increased productivity when the productive work that is being done is work that we wouldn't have done in the past and don't sell or share?
Deomp/recomp is fun to watch but i think bespoke software people create for themselves will be the bigger impact. These wont be software products. Just software that solves problems or makes life better.
It wont be amazing software but it will work for the person so summoned it. It will have bugs but it will be their bugs. It wont have to be shared or monetized because making products people want even if they are free will still be hard.
My dad got the programing bug when he bought a C64. He would stay up at night coding programs that automated formulas he used everyday as a sheet metal worker. He never shared it. Just used it to make his life a bit easier. I don’t see why more people won’t do this the agents solve all the complex things we added to programing and computing for us now.
Apple podcast app never has the podcasts downloaded ahead of time. Isn't pre-downloading the audio the whole point?
The endurance of an AI Agent is so amazing when applied to working with big company customer support. They work through all deflections, will tolerate the intolerable chat support. Feels good that I can just have an agent suck up their time instead of mine.
Increasingly believe the future jobs will fall into one of two categories. Muse or Meatspace Worker. As models get more capable we will spend more of our time inspiring them to create what we need and want. The same progress will limit the need for our physical labor and that labor will likely get limited to the things that the models and robotics either cannot do or we do not trust to do. The Meatspace work will likely have a high premium and the Muses will subject to insane competition.
