It’s #SportingHeritage Day and @Cardiff_Rugby are getting into the spirit.
As part of its 150 year celebrations, they’ve released a new heritage kit, printed retro matchday programmes and launched new storyboards to put our clubs heritage front and centre this season.

Sport was such an important part of Whitchurch Hospital life for both the patients and the staff. Sport is still played on the hospital fields which is a great legacy

Fascinating to see some of the Welsh rugby memorabilia on display at the Principality Stadium as part of National Sporting Heritage Day, including a blue 1908 Australia jersey.
What’s remarkable is just how small the old jerseys are!

🗓️ On the 30th September, we celebrate National Sporting Heritage Day!
#NSHD2026 is an annual event to celebrate sporting heritage. The day is for everyone involved in sport and heritage who wants to promote how sport can be used for inspiration and celebration.
If you want a first-hand look at Saints Heritage items, you can get involved with our Stadium Tours, which typically takes place during the school half-term holidays!
You will get a behind the scenes look at the @BrewDogStadium, seeing trophies the club has won, old memorabilia from over the decades and so much more for as little as £5 for children and £10 for adults.
Our next tour dates will be announced 🔜
As well as those, we also have School tours that take place during term times for children to get involved in. Those include a full year group of your schools coming along for a tour on an agreed date with us. If any schools area interested in coming along for one, please email [email protected] for more information!

We're getting ready for #NSHD2026 Always a great opportunity to showcase some of the crown jewels of Welsh sport. This is a souvenir of a Royal visit that inspired a 12-5 win for Wales in the 1932 Five Nations.

The First Hampden For All campaign has officially launched.
The campaign focuses on the site of First Hampden in Crosshill, Glasgow's Southside. Earlier this year, Hampden Bowling Club closed it's doors, leaving the site empty.
Unfortunately, this has opened the door for development - and the site is slated to be put on the market for commercial or residential usage.
First Hampden is one of the most important football heritage sites in Scotland. It marks the epicentre of our contribution to football and the incredible heritage of football which exists in the Southside.
First Hampden For All aims to take First Hampden into community ownership so it can be preserved for future generations.
You can support the campaign by signing your name below or sending a letter of support.
We can't let the heritage of our game continue to be at the mercy of developers.
🎉 Celebrate National Sporting Heritage Day on September 30th! 🎉
Share your collections, stories, events and activities with us using #NSHD2026.

📖 Uncovering 143 years of Derbyshire football history.
We’ve begun an exciting new project to catalogue and preserve Derbyshire FA’s history, exploring trophies, handbooks, minute books and more dating all the way back to our formation in 1883.
With the help of official Derby County historian Andy Ellis, we’ll be uncovering the stories of the clubs, leagues and people who have helped shape football across the county.
This is just the beginning, with plenty more to come as we bring Derbyshire’s footballing history to life.
