Fun fact ในทางทฤษฎี การสุ่มในคอมพิวเตอร์ส่วนใหญ่ไม่ใช่การสุ่มจริง แต่เป็นรูปแบบการเลือกเลขจาก seed ซึ่ง seed ได้มาจากเวลาที่รันโปรแกรมสุ่มอีกที ซึ่งถ้าเขียนโปรแกรมดึงเวลาในระดับที่ใหญ่เกินไป (เช่นระดับวินาที) ถ้าเรารันโปรแกรมซ้ำเร็วพอ เราจะได้ผลสุ่มเดิมเป๊ะๆ

ถ้าข้าพเจ้า (ซึ่งไม่ใช่นักแปล) จะแปลชื่อหนังสือเล่มนี้ ถ้าไม่ฉีกไปแบบ "ไม่รู้คำ แต่รู้เรื่อง" ไปเลย (ซึ่งก็ against stance ของ xkcd เรื่องคำอีก) ก็คงใช้แบบ "เรื่องยาก คำง่าย" ที่เป็นคำบอกเล่าเดียวกับชื่อปัจจุบันแต่ไม่ต้องใช้ภาษาสวยๆ ไปเลย

ปัญหาไม่ใช่ไม่ทำใหม่ แต่คือทำใหม่ยังไงให้มั่นใจว่าข้อมูลเก่ายังอยู่ครบถ้วนน่ะ 🫠 ในระบบมันไม่ได้มีแค่ข้อมูลนิสิตปจบ. แต่มันต้องมีข้อมูลนิสิตเก่า (นึกถึงเวลานิสิตมาขอทรานสคริปต์ย้อนหลังไม่รู้กี่ปีต่อกี่ปี) ข้อมูลหายไปคนเดียว = ชิบหายทั้งหมด มันเลยแทบไม่มีใครกล้าแตะอะไร

แต่ดีใจที่มีคนแปลนะ สิบเอ็ดปีไม่สายเกินไป เป็นหนังสือแพงเล่มแรกๆ ในชีวิต อ่านตัวอย่างมาแล้วท่อน technical แปลได้โอเคเลย อ่านแล้วติดนิดหน่อยแต่คิดว่าเด็กอ่านน่าจะสนุก ความสนุกของเล่มนี้คือ ต้นฉบับเขียนด้วยคำ "สิบร้อย" คำแรกในภาษาอังกฤษ เพราะคำว่า "พัน" ไม่อยู่ในลิสต์นี้ 😂
