Kirby Smart asked about SEC carnage this season
"Everybody is practicing less, but everyone is getting injured more, it doesn't make sense."
"(Players) were definitely hungrier (in the past)."
"A lot of these guys, honestly, make more than I made until I was 40."

NEW: Georgia's Kirby Smart on players getting injured more in the SEC compared to previous years:
"I don’t know that the players are any different. I think about the teams we had in 2021 and 2022, how physical they were and how they practiced. We can’t even get close to that now. Is it different culture that guys don’t want to as much? I don’t know. They were definitely hungrier, because there was a motivation to make it. A lot of these guys, honestly, they make more than I was making until I was 40. So it’s just a different day and age."

Chris Oliver is phenomenal! We’re pumped to have him back for practice today! He’ll challenge the way you think about player development & practice.

An absolutely LOADED field once again featuring a reigning state champion, several Division I commits + many more prospects, and several 2026-2027 title contenders.
Don’t miss this GREAT day of hoops!

It was better then. Allowed more kids to be seen. Minimized major shoe companies from monopolizing recruiting exposure for players. All @ncaa did with new shorter calendar was advantage the "haves" at the expense of "have nots"

Call me old fashioned, but I think the soon to be 2x MVP should drive to the basket with the intent to score instead of driving to the basket with the intent to trick the ref.

I’ve watched a ton of first session games across Nike EYBL, Adidas 3SSB, and Under Armour UAA. Here’s my honest takeaway:
Nike EYBL has the most talented and most skilled players, no debate. But there’s also a lot of low IQ basketball at times. Felt like I was watching the Houston Rockets every game. A lot of talent, a lot of chaos.
Adidas 3SSB has the best pure basketball product. High IQ plays, strong structure, and real offense being run. It looks the most like college basketball.
Under Armour UAA feels like a mix of both, but those kids play the hardest. There’s a real earned-not-given edge to that circuit. Tough, hungry players that compete like they’ve been overlooked their whole lives.
Nike has pros. (They also have the best shoes)
Adidas has the best watch for a basketball junkie.
UAA has that chip-on-the-shoulder feel.
