I love my Spotify recommendations except that every recommended playlist gets about four songs in on-theme before it turns into “music your 4yo constantly requests”

Plowing through maybe a year of an un-cleared but mostly-read work email inbox. Gonna shamelessly “archive” most everything from my colleagues.
I keep getting prompts from CVS to shift to 3-month prescriptions. I wish their system could just exclude me because my only active Rx is Methylphenidate, which is definitely not available as a 90-day supply.
During the UMC special general conference in 2019, I promised my small baby that we’d get the denomination worked out before she was old enough to understand what it meant to be a Methodist.
I didn’t anticipate covid delaying the next GC. Nor did I anticipate how precocious she’d be.
So tomorrow I’ll be explaining the PNW special disaffiliation conference session in the best way as I can, while reaffirming that we’re safe in our congregation.

The number of PHONE CALLS I have to answer from unknown numbers in this postpartum period is unreal. Early intervention, doctors offices, PT, and just now the PFML office from the state. I know, I know, HIPAA and all that, but dang.
Happy first cold of 2023 to my family! We switched it up this time and I got sick first and then gave it to the preschooler.
Since I've got a new baby in the hospital, I've got very mixed feelings around being sick. Worried I will have gotten her sick, glad she's being closely monitored, and feeling pretty sad I can't go visit again today. Also so very glad to be not-pregnant for this cold.
Here's what we're hoping: speedy recovery for me and 4yo, that spouse and neonate (and all the family we've seen this week) don't catch it at all, and that 4yo doesn't end up with ear infection #3 which'll send her to the ENT for tubes assessment.
God bless the new coworker I took 45 minutes to cross-train in one of my job tasks who opened the Teams meeting by exclaiming, “why are you calling in from a HOSPITAL?!”
Christians, we have SO MANY beautiful liturgical uses of light and candles of our own. Just because so much of the modern church has lost its connection to our own tradition does not give us any right to "discover" and appropriate the holidays of our neighbors.
