Of course deposits work. It's withdrawals that are frozen.
My take:
1. "A compromised engineer laptop" is not an explanation. It's an admission. If one laptop can reach a container that submits withdrawals, there was no zero trust. The whole architecture trusted humans.
2. Where were the circuit breakers? Billions left hot wallets across chains. Rate limits and a kill switch that sweeps funds to fresh safe wallets the moment anomalies hit are incident response 101.
3. SAFU is ~15,000 BTC, about $1.2B. The impact is $6.3B, with ~$3B frozen thanks to others. The gap comes from the balance sheet. So show it: fresh proof of reserves now, not reassurance.
4. If you don't know exactly what happened yet, say so. Honesty builds more trust than a polished "bottom line."
Compare @Bybit_Official in 2025. Reportedly the same North Korean group, $1.5B gone. The CEO @benbybit went live within hours, withdrawals stayed open, and the gap was closed in days. That's the bar.
And this is just the first mega hack. Attackers now have nukes: AI automation at scale. Defense across most industries has barely changed.

Yesterday I tested spot trading on RISEx testnet end-to-end. Fully EVM orderbook spot trading.
Tested the latency: ~ 10ms RTT. Crazy.
This has never been done before and has been a glimmer in my eye for over 2 years.
We’re going to offer the best onchain spot execution. It might take a bit of time, but we will, I’m certain of it.

hi good morning i kinda missed writing and i was bored so here it goes
for the past few months, a decent amount of people keep asking what is rise and why im even a rise maxi. i genuinely believe ethereum is still going to be the settlement and liquidity hub long term. i mean once you ACCEPT that, the most valuable thing you can actually build is an orderbook that other ethereum aligned contracts can just compose with atomically (same block, same tx, no bridging, no async bullshit). its like trying to roll a blunt but your weed is in your other room and the papers and filters are not even on that other room lol. then you would need to get up, walk around, come back oh and by the time you have everything the weed is already spilled or the papers are fucked up. well yeag thats most of defi
yes i agree that defi is very boring and annoying for normies because you need to do a lot of things like (pulling the money out, moving it somewhere else, trading it, then move it again). rise is more like having the weed, papers, and filter already on the table in front of you. you just need to roll it. look dude if one thing is missing the whole thing stops and you wouldnt want sitting there with half a blunt and no papers 👍🏻
realistically that has always been the missing piece. rise is the first real attempt at putting a proper orderbook inside the evm so other contracts can just read it, write to it, and build on top of it without the usual friction. just spend some time looking at rise. do it for me c:

Real trading data makes the chain faster, and RISE VM is now 2x faster than revm on production blocks.
A while back, we decided to downstream revm into our own RISE VM implementation for better API control, specifically for better cache management and Parallel EVM "build-up".
Along the way, we also realized how non-optimal upstream was, and after some register optimizations, op-code fusions, smart inlining and caching (thanks to gigatons of @risextrade data to analyze),
Our early RISE VM adaption has been consistently processing @risechain blocks 2x faster than revm!
As we push for even more aggressive optimizations, and build up Parallel EVM on top of this tight core, I don't think any EVM chain can get within 10% of our performance.
Towards 1000 on-chain orderbooks!?
