My thanks to the Postmaster NED candidates for agreeing to take part in Hustings tonight. Link to the event here. Numbers attending were low. BUT maybe this is why….? 1.PMs have had years of POL prosecutions as a ‘recruiting sergeant’ to engagement and challenge by the rank and file. No prosecutions (for now ?) thankfully and many see less need for challenge and representation. 2.Poor rem for years and years and POL mantra of change without any REAL CHANGE leaves PMs disbelieving of change and less inclined to be involved because they’re conditioned to think whats the point - nothing changes. BUT know this POL it looks like whoever is elected there will be some ‘foxes in the henhouse’ which cannot be a bad thing - BUT THAT IS ALONG WITH INDEPENDENT representation of PM’s. vimeo.com/1018453972?share=c…

It will be a week since I was ejected from the Postmaster Hustings arranged by the @NFSP_UK for asking the candidates if they would agree to take part in a hustings arranged by the CWU. Happy to report that all candidates agreed and this meeting with @KateOsborneMP will take place tomorrow night at 7.00 pm open to members and non members of the CWU alike.

Postmaster NED hustings over on @NFSP_UK channel. @PostOffice have presumably arranged this between them and @NFSP_UK I was removed from the meeting because I invited the candidates to agree to a hustings on a @PMsinCWU @CWUnews channel. I didn’t get to ask them … The greatest leverage available to postmasters is independent representation. Without independent representation there cannot be meaningful change for postmasters. What will the candidates do to ensure the @PostOffice finally allow this rather than continue to tie us into non independent representation? @stugoo17 @nickwallis @ElCShaikh

Tonight @NFSP_UK held / is holding a hustings for the 6 Post Master Non Executive Directors. The election is 16 October and voting has opened. Out of a network of 11500 branches and with invites sent by the NFSP to postmasters - as I “left”* (*more below) there were less than 70 participants to that meeting. Including the 6 candidates and @NFSP_UK officials. I asked the question … There are less than 70 participants to this meeting. What can be done to reach a wider audience of postmasters. @voiceofthePM @PostOffInquiry @nickwallis I offered an answer and invitation to the candidates …

xitter.cf/guardiannews/status/18… Nick Read says ‘It feels like the right time for a leadership transition’. It feels like it for him because there’s no sign of the pay raise he wanted. Nor is there any sign of any meaningful raise for postmasters who don’t have the luxury of moving on in the same way he has. ‘I will have steered the business to the end of the formal evidence gathering phases of the inquiry…’ Huge legal costs incurred in disclosure alone and which was criticised on more than one occasion by the inquiry for being late and or incomplete. If that’s Mr Reads idea of ‘steering’ I really hope his new position isn’t going to be driving a bus that I’m a passenger on. ‘It has been a privilege to work with Postmasters and colleagues during what has been a challenging and difficult time for the business…’ I’d find it a privilege to draw that salary and bonus too. And as for the challenging and difficult time for the business let’s not forget that this is a mess all Post Office Ltd own making. He says of us ‘You are the backbone of Post Office’. Well he got that much right at least. Along with his resignation. Farewell and don’t go steering any buses. Your garden is going to look beautiful by the end of the next 6 months.

Reminder that POL continue to play the numbers game with serving sub postmasters remuneration. They’re quoting £8m in Operational Excellence Initiative payments to sub postmasters - which potentially is a max of a 5% increase on their (very poor) remuneration and which in reality is on their own forecast only 2.9%. Pathetic on every level. The bull 💩, the figure, the insult. Does govt really really want a functioning POL network because beyond some fine words there’s very little evidence of that. They’re talking to the wrong people. People who are either cosy with POL for financial reasons or because of being seduced into feeling important in the scheme of things. If POL and the govt are serious about preserving a network they need to recognise CWU as independent postmaster representatives. Others will claim that they’re independent but they’re not. They are in the pocket of and owned by POL.

Operational Excellence Initiative the bull 💩 exposed. Find me a Subpostmaster that is happy with this? POL - is this really something to shout about? A 3.5% ‘boost’ to remuneration. 3.5% of bugger all is still bugger all. Insulting. OEI Pays branches up to 5% of their usual monthly commission for efficiently completing routine tasks. Erm - are POL capable of completing any task efficiently? Some role model to Postmasters they are!!

‘Current business model not fit for purpose with too much money going to the centre.’ Fine words. But let me tell you as a serving postmaster - It’s the little things that matter. 1.Why do POL say I have to pay for my faded PO sign to be replaced from my own poorly remunerated pocket? 2.Why do POL say that I have to pay for replacement note cassettes for their safe from my poorly remunerated pocket? 3.Why is this still going on…….? If you think this is wrong repost. @jreynoldsMP @RichardMoorhead @gareththomasMP @voiceofthePM @CWUPostmaster @staticsean @liambyrnemp @HouseofCommons @CommonsBTC @biztradegovuk @premnsikka @RtHonKevanJones @UKHouseofLords

Can we make it clear to everyone that the £8m a day Asylum costs do NOT go to Asylum Seekers but straight to rich Conservative Donor 'Hotel' owners. Like Bibby Stockholm it is a con to give huge amounts of money to Donors for almost nothing.

Proving that you cannot polish a turd but you can pay a small fortune to put glitter on it ? Oh and another fortune to lawyers to correct mistakes with GDPR, ‘cooperate’ with an Inquiry and award bonuses to senior directors and managers who oversee this gravy train. Meanwhile I’m being told that I have to pay to replace my Post Office signature sign and the plastic cassettes in the safe. Life really is too short and just too tired of this sh*t really.

I seem to have upset the @Nigel_Farage fan club - so let me be clear. This man sows hate, lies and division. He is a grifter and a conman. He does not represent the vast majority of Britons. RT if you agree P.s. multiculturalism is great.

As a serving subpostmasters it’s hard to put into words how I feel about this corporate guff from POL to employees about the ‘new behaviours’ to bring ‘cultural change’ for Post Office. The only new behaviour I need to see is an acceptance of the CWU’s right to independently represent subpostmasters and the cultural change I need to see will not come without wholesale change of management at senior levels. The network that is the Post Office brand keeps working without this ‘word soup’ guff. And as for the ‘Talent Team’ - the POL network of subpostmasters is where the real talent lies. We’re made up of all sorts of different backgrounds and real life experience and talent. Stop listening and sending this rubbish out POL. Recognise the need for our independent representation and not the absolute sham we have. Now that would be a new behaviour to change the culture !!

This is ALL the wrong way around. The implosion is SPMRs leaving. Wake up UK this network is shrinking. And yet we add not just social value but real value to your property prices too. Studies have shown the ££££s added to your property value by a PO close to it. Does the POL board add that value ? No. We do. The SPMRs - but for how much longer.

#PostOfficeScandal #PostOfficeInquiry #MrBatesVsThePostOffice #StateSponsoredScandal #StateCoverUp A Farewell Ode to the NFSP In shadows deep, where justice hides, A Federation's silence, where truth abides. NFSP, a name once held in esteem, Now whispers of failure, a broken dream. They vowed to protect, to stand by their own, But when darkness fell, they left them alone. In the Horizon storm, where lives were torn, The Fed's voice was muted, forlorn. The cries of the innocent, unheard, unseen, As the NFSP turned away, cold and mean. Their promises empty, their actions unkind, Leaving broken hearts and shattered minds. The victims sought solace, a guiding hand, But found only betrayal, across the land. The Federation they trusted, their shield and might, Abandoned them to darkness, devoid of light. Oh, NFSP, where was your strength and grace? When lives were shattered, leaving no trace. The scars remain, a testament to pain, A reminder of the trust you did disdain. @NFSP_UK @PostOffice @jreynoldsMP @rushanaraali @PMsinCWU @CWUPostmaster @staticsean @voiceofthePM @CWUnews @AndyFurey_CWU @The_TUC @sandratizzard

Serving sub postmaster here with a message from the front line to the new Postal Affairs Minister when you’re appointed. You’ve a network to save and the only way that you will do that is by working with the people who are the network. The postmasters. Please listen to us. Please give us truly independent representation which the current board deny us. A few nominal ‘postmaster’ director puppets mean nothing to me. Focus groups and listening groups mean nothing to me because POL don’t listen and they only turn their focus on me to pretend they will change. They won’t change unless and until we are independently represented. Their whole culture is unchanged. They live by the bonus culture. That’s the culture that resulted in the ongoing Horizon scandal. There’s another scandal here and now and it’s the underpayment of the greatest social network in the land. It’s all at risk. We’re not just postmasters. We’re they eyes and ears of communities. We are the social safety net in communities. We are the ‘doers’ and the ‘fixers’ in communities. We are another emergency service. Were the ears of the community. We’re the advocates for the socially unrepresented. We give our life advice to the community. We give our lives to the community. Our job is a vocation. Like yours. But be warned and make sure that you hear the right things. The NFSP does not represent postmasters. It is wholly funded by POL and is an arm of the Post Office PR machine. It needs to be called out for what it is. Your government is about Change. Please do contact me to talk about it. I am the CWU subpostmasters branch secretary. We’re ready to give all postmasters independent representation. One small concession you can tell the board to make that will lead to one major change. My DMs are open Minister.
