MYHOUSE.WAD (✅) oh yeah i forgot to put this on here. i love when a horror game comes out of absolutely nowhere and executes its concept in such a compelling manner that even for all its flaws gameplay wise i walk away from it thinking "that was cool as FUCK"

Whilst I disagree with patent grants on "concepts" because you're first to market, Google is a massive corporation that shouldn't blink at paying patent fees. It's a massive disservice to customers, and rightfully people are pissed. Just make sure you know who to be pissed with.

I never knew transferring a cell number between networks could be this difficult. My number since 2009 is disconnected, and both @ThreeUK and @EE are adamant they don't own the number, and to contact the other provider. How do I resolve this? Anyone else had this issue?

1. A Twitter story. Nearly 70 years ago a woman from one of the poorest parts of #belfast went into labour. Thinking it was premature labour, around about 30 weeks, her and her husband John were soon to find out that it was no where near 30 weeks.

When I've spoken out about issues at work, I've been considered passionate. It's got me promoted. But when @clairedotw did it, she was "bitchy", a "toublemaker", got cautioned, held back and effectively forced out of a job, replaced by men who contacted HER for HELP on that JOB.

Well now we know why the Twitch coverage of #BlizzConline was delayed by a full 3 and a half minutes - the entire broadcast was being live edited by the event team based on triggers for the DMCA claim algorithm. And it happened. For a band covering their own song 35 years later.

At the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, Ulrich appeared with host Marlon Wayans in a skit that criticized the idea of using Napster to share music. Marlon played a college student listening to Metallica's "I Disappear". Ulrich walked in and asked for an explanation. Ulrich responded to Wayans' excuse that using Napster was just "sharing" by saying that Wayans' idea of sharing was "borrowing things that were not yours without asking". He called in the Metallica road crew, who proceeded to confiscate all of Wayans' belongings, leaving him almost naked in an empty room. Napster creator Shawn Fanning responded later in the ceremony by presenting an award wearing a Metallica shirt, saying, "I borrowed this shirt from a friend. Maybe, if I like it, I'll buy one of my own." Ulrich was later booed on stage at the award show when he introduced the final musical act, Blink-182.

Regardless of your thoughts on copyright, the far reaching implications of an algorithm to *automatically* implement claims for rights holders is WHY "fair use" can't work. Musicians risk covering songs. Artists can't play their own without pro-active measures. This isn't right.

[Switch Online] Nintendo is replacing its multiplayer server system, NEX (used in most, if not all of their online games since 3DS/Wii U), with a new system called NPLN. The Monster Hunter Rise demo was the very first game to use this in public. More below 👇

Nintendo is preparing a big multiplayer overhaul, probably for games in development in 2020: every task currently taken by NEX is going to be switched over to NPLN. It's currently in a preview phase, and the Monster Hunter demo was a way to test how it worked under load.
