So Victorian police have evidence the firebombing of Burgertory, owned by Palestinian Hash Tayeh, was linked to the genocide in Palestine but they said on the record, and continue to say, it had nothing to do with race, religion, or politics. Nor will they explain why. Okay

Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were filmed chanting racist, genocidal slogans. They were also reportedly attacking local Muslims.
For the BBC to fail to mention this in its reporting of the violence in Amsterdam last night is disgraceful. Sky the same. /1

Not satire. Israeli ambassador condemning children for “world peace” drawings hanging at the UN.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, demands the removal of children’s paintings depicting world peace at the main entrance of the UN building. “Nothing about Israel. Nothing about our hostages… This is shameful,” Danon said.
The Israeli military has killed more children in Gaza over the past year than were killed in any single year of conflict over the past two decades, an Oxfam analysis found.

if you're an ostensible left-leaning american & your first impulse right now is to place this result at the feet of minority groups, third party/non-voters, student protestors...anyone other than the democratic party - i don't trust you to be a part of whatever fight comes next.

Just a few days left to support @AndrewLeavold's @Kickstarter campaign for THE TALLER THEY COME.
If you enjoyed our screenings of his films PUB: THE MOVIE earlier this year, or FILM SAFARI: GHANA last month, do consider kicking some funds in - let's get this over the line!
He's got a mountain to climb, but I've just kicked in to help get @AndrewLeavold's insane dreams of an Australian-Ghanaian co-production of THE TALLER THEY COME over the line on @Kickstarter.
If you love insane genre cinema, you should donate too!

Never ceases to amaze me how many folks who’ve heard RATM are in Paul Ryan mode, having literally ZERO understanding of anything that band was about and even less understanding where any of us might stand on contemporary issues. Recently was talking to a couple at a restaurant who were big fans of “Killing In The Name”. The nice lady said, “I love that song. It helped me rage against my parents and later against the jab!” I said, “Ma’am that song is about racist cops who often behave like the Ku Klux Klan in service of historical white supremacy and are boot licking lackeys and thugs of the racist capitalist ruling class.” She sat there chewing and blinking, chewing and blinking.
