Why do some teams win close games consistently and others don’t? After Sunday’s game the Broncos have won 15 one score games in a row. It’s not only the stars that make a difference. Kansas City still has Mahomes, Kelsey, and they’ve added Walker on offense, but their offensive line has turned over. They aren’t winning one score games like they once did. The Broncos kept their team intact. If I’d told you Malcolm Roach was going to be a difference maker and seal the game for the Broncos, most casual fans would say “Who?” The Denver KC game came down to the last play. The video shows my view of the last play of the game. The Chiefs were on the Broncos six-yard line and Patrick Mahomes was sacked by Malcolm Roach as time ran out and as Denver fans went crazy. The KC receivers were well covered and Jonathan Cooper’s pass rush forced Mahomes up in the pocket where Roach finished the game. On the play before the Chiefs scored a touchdown but a KC offensive lineman jumped offsides, so it was called back. Yes, having star players is important, but also having reliable players who don’t jump off-sides and who stay in their rush lane in key situations wins games. Teamwork wins games. Having teammates you can count on, is just as valuable in business and in relationships. Not everyone can be a star, but everyone can be a good teammate. Do your job! Go Broncos!
