THE DEMON WHO ARRIVES WHEN THE SUN IS BRIGHTEST In the desert of Egypt, Anthony fought every imaginable temptation. But he said the worst one didn’t come at night. It came at noon. When the day was hottest, work felt meaningless, and the soul was tired. He described acedia like this: • time slows down • prayer becomes impossible • every task feels pointless • you want to leave, escape, run • you question your entire life • you feel God is gone Anthony said acedia whispers: “Your life has no purpose. You are wasting time. God is far from you.” He once felt it so strongly that he cried out: “Lord, I want to be saved but these thoughts will not leave me.” And Christ answered: “Anthony, this is how the soul is tested. Persevere, and you will be strengthened" Do not let noonday devil get the best of you.

Christians should not fear Halloween. When approached rightly, it reminds us of death, judgment, and the hope of resurrection. Memento Mori. Watch the full episode here: youtu.be/obwnI2USVOA

Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good Jesus, hear me. Within your wounds hide me. Separated from you, let me never be. From the evil one, protect me. At the hour of my death, call me, and close to you, bid me, that with your saints I may be praising you for ever and ever. Amen. (Support the amazing artist: @BaritusCatholic)

People on the Right and Left are decrying political violence — as they should. But the heartbreaking thing is that the alternative to political violence is...long, arduous, uncomfortable conversation with people you disagree with. And that is what Charlie Kirk was all about.

Fasting cleanses the soul, raises the mind, subjects one’s flesh to the spirit, renders the heart contrite & humble, scatters the clouds of concupiscence, quenches the fire of lust, & kindles the true light of chastity. Enter again into yourself. — St. Augustine of Hippo

DO PROTESTANTS EVER BOTHER TO LISTEN TO CATHOLICS? To the rage-baiting Protestants crashing Catholic threads: You don’t come here to preach Christ. You come to hear yourself yell, throw digital stones, and collect applause from your echo chamber while pretending you’ve done something brave. You think flooding a thread with out-of-context Bible verses and “just trust Jesus!” clichés somehow proves 2,000 years of Catholic theology wrong? That’s not evangelization. That’s spiritual trolling. You don’t ask questions. You don’t seek dialogue. You come in swinging with smug grins and bullhorn rhetoric, shouting things like: “Your religion can’t save you!” “To hell with tradition!” “Just accept Jesus into your heart!” You throw tantrums when we respond with Scripture, Church history, Apostolic authority, and the Eucharist. Why? Because you can’t refute it. Because the second we expose that your theology didn’t exist for 1,500 years, you start flailing, mocking, and running. You’re not brave. You’re not defenders of truth. You’re digital Pharisees with a Wi-Fi connection and a persecution complex. You treat your feelings like divine revelation and your opinions like doctrine. Then you demand Catholics abandon the very Church that: Gave the world the Bible, Preserved truth through plagues, empires, and heresies, Bled in arenas while your denomination didn’t exist. All because you got a warm fuzzy during a youth retreat? No thanks. We’re not impressed by your TikTok theology. We’re not intimidated by your slogans. And we’re done entertaining your pride-drenched circus acts. If you want to talk like a Christian, act like one. If not, then scream louder. It only proves you’re losing. Because while you rage for attention, we kneel in silence before the Body of Christ, truly present in the Eucharist. We don’t need to shout. The Church speaks for herself. And the gates of Hell are still losing. You’re right about one thing: we aren’t saved by passing a theology exam. But here’s the thing: the Catholic faith isn’t about choosing between religion and relationship. It’s about saying yes to the relationship through the religion Christ Himself established. The idea that Catholics don’t know God personally or don’t feel the Holy Spirit is one of the most common misunderstandings out there. The truth is, I know His voice. I know His mercy. I’ve encountered Him on my knees. I don’t just study Him, I receive Him. Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. We don’t worship the rules, we worship the Person who gave them. We don’t trust in our own works, we trust in His grace, poured out through the sacraments He gave us. Protestants say "i want to feel the Holy Spirit". So do I. And I have. In Confession, when I’ve wept over my sins and heard the words “You are forgiven.” In Adoration, when the room is silent and the only sound is the beating of my heart with His. In the Mass, when heaven touches earth and time stands still. That’s not just theology. That’s encounter. You say, “God knows my name.” Beautiful. And yes, He does. But He also knows the name of His Bride, the Church, the one He founded, the one He died for, the one He never separated from salvation. So, religion doesn’t block a relationship. Religion is how God taught us to live that relationship out, through covenant, sacrifice, communion, and yes, love. If you’ve felt the Holy Spirit, I rejoice. But don’t stop at the upper room, come to the altar. Because the same God who knows your name also said: “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” (John 6:53) He invites you deeper. Not just to know about Him. But to receive Him. Really. Tangibly. Sacramentally. And once you’ve encountered that… You’ll never say “religion” the same way again. Peace to you, truly.
