NYC traffic police are openly giving Muslims a free pass to completely double park while everyday citizens get slapped with massive fines and it is making people absolutely furious me included. When I watched this the footage shows an NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agent being confronted directly on a city street. In the video, a private car is seen getting slapped with a ticket while a row of taxis and SUVs sit completely untouched, double parked right under a No Standing Anytime sign. When pressed on why those specific cars weren't getting hit with heavy fines, the officer calmly admitted that they get a special pass to block the streets during Muslim prayer times. When asked how police are even supposed to verify who is actually inside praying versus who is just taking advantage of the system, the officer just shrugged it off, told the filmmaker to call 311, and walked away. I am so sick of this where the rules simply do not apply to everyone equally. As regular citizens, we face aggressive ticketing, towing, and hundreds of dollars in fees for the slightest parking violations. Yet the city actively creates special religious loopholes to let others completely ignore public street laws and block traffic.
