Yours truly on bass drum (not pictured), playing a cadence stolen freely from @LVilleBands in the drumline we founded at Coe before the turn of the century.
Biased because Zak is a Libertyville friend from the mid-90s, who had the culinary dream even then, but Duke’s Alehouse in Crystal Lake has never disappointed and I really hope the Woodstock venture succeeds.

Is that the same glove Manfred wore when he snapped his fingers to eliminate 40+ teams from Minor League Baseball?
1. Missed this @QCRiverBandits magic by one day. Damn.
2. My grandparents took me to a QC Angels game at pre-flood JOD Stadium and my grandfather missed a grand slam (might’ve been a walkoff) because he wanted to warm up the car. In August. For a 90-minute drive home.

If I have one legacy from my copy editing days, I hope it is convincing people to keep using the term Independence Day.
Ottawa's Independence Day fireworks will be held again this year at sunset on Thursday, July 4. They will again be launched from the levee at Ottawa High School. Here is what you need to know about parking plans. shawlocal.com/illinois-valle…
After enjoying an @indyindians game with the whole team Thursday, my kid and I are headed back solo tonight for this one. Mix in @IndianaFever Wednesday, a ton of good food, and it’s been a solid week in Circle City.
TONIGHT the @indyindians host their own Negro League celebration. They’ll honor the likes of Hank Aaron, Toni Stone, Choo-Choo Coleman, Hal King, Peanut Johnson and more with these Indianapolis Clowns throwbacks
Back tonight. One thing I didn’t notice Thursday: since @thevicindy hosts high school state finals, it has a display of the reigning champs’ uniforms and a full history of tournament winners at all sites. @UniWatch

Was a privilege to see this mastery in person and an inspiration to watch @Fred22Jackson continue to defy odds and expectations on the rest of his football journey. No one worked harder.
