The @IBMZ goes rack-mounted. This is a big deal as it can now slot into non-IBM racks and power. This removes yet another set of objections. Congrats @rossmauri and team. Factually, Z provides: -99.9999999% resiliency -on-system ML acceleration -accelerated and quantum-safe cryptography -runs Linux and containerized applications And it does that, in many use cases, at much lower power requirements than x86-based implementations. I'd love to see IBM in the future: -unleash this to the reseller community to go after more volume -create appliance offerings and As A Service with key ISVs where Z offers order-of-magnitude benefits like @MongoDB and @SAP. $IBM techtarget.com/searchdatacen…

Someone may want to inform @AP’s @tkrisher or @airlinewriter that a mainframe had nothing to do with the NOTAM outage. NOTAM runs on old Sun SPARC systems running Solaris. Important to not confuse “older” system as “bad” and “newer” system as “good.” apnews.com/article/science-f… – at Austin, TX
