For Pakistan the IWT is critical framework for water security. India cannot unilaterally dismiss int mechanisms when their rulings are inconvenient. Undermining the IWT risks turning water into instrument of geopolitical pressure & sets dangerous precedent for regional stability.

SIPRI latest assessment that India has placed at least 12 nuc warhead in ready to launch posture raises concerns due to compression of decision making time combined with unresolved questions on its C2 and its evolving counterforce capabilities. - an interesting analysis 👇
🌍 SVI Analysis | "The intersection of a flawed nuclear safety apparatus and a ready-to-launch arsenal is a quintessential mathematical formula for catastrophe. As India increases the number of its “ready-to-launch” nuclear warheads, the risk of technical malfunction, human shortcoming, or command miscommunication triggering a catastrophic nuclear war grows exponentially." ✍️ Authored by SVI Research Officer @HamdanKhan08. 🔗 Read More: thesvi.org/flawed-control-re… #SVI #StrategicVisionInstitute

Pakistan’s position rests on the IWT’s institutional and legal architecture. Unilateral suspension or reinterpretation undermines the treaty’s dispute-resolution mechanisms and risks establishing a precedent for coercive use of transboundary water in interstate relations.

On 28 May 1998, Pakistan conducted successful nuclear tests in the mountains of Chagai, Balochistan. This day — Youm-e-Takbir, the Day of Greatness — is a tribute to the collective will of a nation that refused to leave its security to chance.

Youm-e-Takbir is a reminder that sovereignty is not granted it is earned. That security is not inherited it is built. That the scientists, engineers, and leaders who stood firm when the pressure to concede was greatest deserve not just acknowledgement, but enduring respect.

Their work ensured that Pakistan entered the twenty-first century as a state capable of determining its own fate — and contributing to the stability of others. On this day, the nation salutes every individual — named and unnamed — who made that possible.
