If people could share this post I would really appreciate it. This book would be a great holiday gift for children, teachers, school libraries or to donate to a children’s hospital or mental health organization. My books are self published so it’s hard to get them out there.
A student did an entry today in my book Chance to Shine. Each of the 200 lessons has a mental health message, affirmation, & writing prompt to reflect on. It can be used by teachers for mental health lessons or for individual use as a guided journal. a.co/d/0ja7v0Kd

Today, let's strive to show a little more charity today. Charity is the pure love of Christ. It is patient, kind, humble, and not easily offended. The Savior showed us what charity looks like through the way He loved and served others.

Take time today to truly hear someone. When Blind Bartimaeus cried out, others told him to be quiet—but the Savior stopped, called for him, and listened. One of the greatest gifts we can give is to help someone feel heard, valued, and lifted.

Let's help someone see their divine potential today. Peter was an ordinary fisherman with weaknesses and doubts. But the Savior saw what Peter could become. He sees that same potential in each of us.

The Savior took time to listen, understand, and meet people where they are. Who could use a listening ear today? #JesusChrist #Compassion #LoveOneAnother

Let’s take a moment today to focus on someone who needs to know that others care. The Savior noticed people—especially those who were hurting, lonely, overlooked, or in need of healing and love.

The more I learn about the Savior, the more He touches my heart. As I seek to learn and follow Him, albeit very imperfectly, the more love I feel for Him and others.

Purpose is discovered—but it is also lived. We rarely see the whole path. We step forward with hope and faith, then listen, serve, lift, and learn. Our struggles can deepen compassion. As we help carry others’ burdens, the Savior can strengthen and heal us too.

See the Good First It is easy to see what is wrong in someone’s life. It takes greater vision to see what is good—and what they can become. People rarely need someone who is constantly pointing out their weaknesses. They need people who believe in them.

How can we best care for those in need? Sometimes the greatest gift we can give someone is simply to be there—and to stay. Sometimes the best way to help isn’t to try to fix the problem or give advice. Sometimes they simply need someone to abide with them—to sit beside them, listen, care, and remind them by their presence that they are not alone.

Let Your Scars Become Someone Else’s Strength Your pains and scars can deepen your empathy—and help you bless someone else who is hurting. One of the best ways to help ourselves is to look outward and use what we have learned through our own struggles to support another person. Some people carry burdens quietly. They may show up, serve, smile, and do everything expected while still feeling overlooked, minimized, or alone. Sometimes the person who most needs to be seen is not the person at the center of attention. It may be the person standing quietly in the background, wondering whether they matter. Let us become better at seeing them. Not out of pity, but with love. Not by taking over, but by walking beside them. Our scars do not have to define us. They can help us recognize pain in others and become a source of compassion, strength, and hope.

How to Fill Our Hearts with More Love John, the apostle whom Christ loved dearly, wrote these simple but life-changing words: “God is love.” Love is God’s very nature. And just like with John, when you truly know and love God, His nature begins to show up in you. You become full of love. How do you fill your heart with that kind of love? •Through prayer. •By striving to become better each day. •By seeking to love and serve others daily. As you do, His love grows stronger and stronger in you— a quiet, steady love that fills your soul and gently radiates from your life.

Honor Those Who Protect and Strengthen I feel deep gratitude for the men and women who love this country enough to act on that love. I honor those who are protecting and strengthening our freedoms today—freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of conscience, and the right to live without tyranny. Many sacrifice comfort, reputation, safety, and even their lives because they believe these freedoms are worth preserving. I also feel deep concern when people enjoy these freedoms while constantly belittling our country, complaining instead of counting their blessings, and thoughtlessly supporting ideas that would weaken or destroy the very freedoms they rely on. We can acknowledge problems and work to improve. But freedom is not self-sustaining. It must be cherished, defended, and passed on.

𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 Most leaders are consumed with themselves — their glory, status, wealth, success, pleasure, or image. Society seems to crave these types of people for season - by those who want the same thing. But self-absorbed leadership is dangerous. It damages people, weaken organizations, creates a lack of civility, and ultimately erodes society. Truly great leaders are completely different. They are not driven by ego or personal glory. They are driven by a truly noble purpose and a deep concern for people. For them, mission and people are not in conflict. They go together. When people work shoulder to shoulder for something worthy, something powerful happens. Yes, there are struggles. There are setbacks. There are failures. But as people learn, sacrifice, solve problems, and serve together, they change. They become stronger. They become more capable. They become more united. They become better. That is why forced change rarely lasts. It may create compliance, but it does not build ownership. It may produce short-term movement, but it does not create deep capability. Breakthrough leadership is different. It is about purpose, people, ownership, and shared contribution. It is about 𝘄𝗲, not 𝗺𝗲. And that is why it lasts.

𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 / 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 = Real Leadership People thrive when love and expectations rise together. It’s the pattern behind confidence, capability, and lasting change. And it applies everywhere—businesses, non-profits, families, teams, classrooms, mentoring, ministry, and leadership. This image explains the principle. If we want lasting growth, we cannot rely on pressure, control, low expectations, or taking over.

𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 / 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹 Helping someone grow is not the same as solving their problems for them. Real growth requires 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 / 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. High love means we see people with dignity, compassion, and hope. We listen, understand, and walk with them. High expectations means we believe they can grow. We invite them to act, learn, stretch, contribute, and become more capable. Low love can lead to judgment and pressure. Low expectations can lead to dependence and drift. But when love and expectations work together, people are strengthened. They build faith, capability, responsibility, and charity. The goal is not to take over someone’s life. The goal is to help them become capable in all areas of life — spiritually, emotionally, relationally, physically, financially, and professionally. We cannot impose growth on people. We must walk with them, strengthen them, and help them become.
