I hope the current never-ending slew of documentaries about murders and kidnappings will be looked on in the future how we look back at the 2000s TV of judging and shaming. We'll wonder why grief and terror were so exploited for entertainment.

Of course every time I think something like this I imagine the exact opposite will actually happen, and in this case the perpetrators and victims of crime will be desperate to cash in on their opportunity and seek out the limelight.

Judging by this and the world cup, football shirts are really into patterns and swirls at the moment. I'm not a huge fan, and look forward to the bold new look as a club dares to use a flat colour on their shirt in five years time.
