For gameplay purposes, the sheath is attached behind the shield-side arm to preserve visual balance. It's visible when drawing or sheathing. The animation is displayed horizontally in front of the character.

AmiGoonies for the Amiga AGA (by Marlox/2-Bit Combo/Amaweks) has a new and comprehensive update, looking great with new scenes and enemies.
It's a reimagining of the Konami game (not a port), mostly based on the MSX version, but using Amiga's features such as per-pixel scrolling, parallax and zero "sprite flicker" (mostly blitter objects, to be precise).

SkyGunner arrived on PS2 in 2001 and quietly disappeared. Developed by former staff from the original Ace Combat team, it traded realism for a world inspired by European adventure anime. Despite selling poorly, it remains one of the purest examples of arcade-style aerial combat on the system, and many PS2 owners have never even heard of it.

LHX Attack Chopper for MS-DOS PC (Electronic Arts/1990) is a combat helicopter simulator featuring the AH-64 Apache, UH-60 Blackhawk, V-22 Osprey and the LHX (Light Helicopter Experimental) itself.
Fun fact: its author, Brent Iverson, who later designed Chuck Yeager's Air Combat, also ported Amiga's Deluxe Paint 2 to DOS PC and Apple IIGS.
