In his concession speech, NDP Leader David Eby said that he called to congratulate the Conservatives leader.
Eby took responsibility for the NDP’s defeat. And he announced that he is stepping down as leader.

NEW: An order of New York nuns founded in 1817 has rebuked the bishops who laid hands on President Trump 12 days before the midterms.
“Images carry messages,” the Sisters of Charity wrote. “Silence carries messages, too.”
The nuns have a powerful ally in Pope Leo XIV, who has put women at the center of his leadership. They now run three Vatican dicasteries, a larger share than in Trump’s cabinet. thelettersfromleo.com/p/new-…

MAGA Brad Ford will absolutely destroy our programs, water, daycares, and there will be massive cuts and job losses for City workers. Toronto can't take thousands of people losing their jobs because of a greedy fascist Heritage taker, just like Doug Ford.
Vote Olivia Chow
Toronto mayoral candidate Brad Bradford has a slew of questionable supporters, including the CEO of Shopify, and the founder of Rebel News.
@DesmondCole explains that Bradford’s endorsements shows his proximity to anti-democratic, right-wing rhetoric.

This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.

We need to build up our city not tear it down. This guy doesn't understand the basics of how city budgets work. He is even worse on transporation. He would remove critical pieces of transportation. Infrastructure that would reduce mobility, increase congestion and blocking the box at intersections, forcing more cars onto crowded streets, inducing demand, concentrating traffic and making getting around even more difficult. He would further endanger pedestrian, motorists and cyclists alike.

Maybe this is crazy. But a woman who built herself up from being a homeless child to an accomplished physician, seems preferable to a man born into the privileges of private education and frequent international family vacations but never learned decency.
