Ashok (Akku) Roy was a fascinating character in many ways & his personality has been etched beautifully im @SandeepUnnithan book #OperationX. I, of course, was lucky to hear about him earlier, here and there, and he seemed quite a maverick. More to the point, he was involved in the training and insertion of 'Water Rats' of the Mukti Bahini, the gallant underwater saboteurs, from Tripura. After a splendid job there, he returned in time for the War, to be deployed on the Western Seaboard. To my mind, that makes Akku the only one from the @indiannavy to be involved (or see action) in both theatres of the War. It was sad to lose him, Lt Sirohi & MCPO Vijayan.
