this shit is vile bigotry and it would do a lot of good for online Democratic partisans who want to assure trans people that Dems are not by and large transphobic to call this type of stuff out more often

As a trans man who is constantly fighting Anti-transmasculinism os this app. I wanna give a special "thank you" to all the trans women and transfems who still try to understand us, recognize us, and stand up for us. Your support is SO important. I love you. And thank you.

Agreed. Amy is conflating a true trauma with being attacked for being a liar, which she is. When someone calls you out for being a liar you can’t just say “I was harmed as a child” as a defense. Whether or not you like the ad is a different story than who would be the best governor. She would be a DISASTER!!! @VivekGRamaswamy will be a CHAMPION. That is the basis worth voting on. Not a 30 second commercial.

Trans voter to @AOC: Trans people in America feel like they've been abandoned by the Democratic Party, that we are a losing issue, that it's not worth defending us. What do you say to that?
AOC:

yeah it really is a social bind where people want to look for any excuse to abandon trans people and when we point that out that becomes their excuse for abandoning us, our “ungratefulness”

Trans people vote for Democrats overwhelmingly. They don't even consider the idea of voting for Republicans. But because they even *dare* to express concern when Democrats indicate eroding support they're apparently garbage allies that should necessarily be thrown away posthaste.

The two are extremely connected and you're an idiot if you don't see it.

really shows how stupid the whole anti-trans rhetoric is when you have one of the richest women in the world calling mostly poor LGBT people "elitist" for defending ourselves
J.K. Rowling has published a new essay defending her views on the trans community and calling out trans activism in the 21st century for being "elitist."
"My views haven't changed... what to me represents no change at all in my political or ideological outlook has, in recent years, seen me and women like me subject not only to criticism but also to death threats. This is because we oppose the current, dominant strain of trans activism, which holds that a man who declares himself a woman is, literally, a woman, and is therefore entitled to be treated as a woman in all contexts..."

those transphobic “caricatures” of trans men if they can evven be called that and not just A Creature havve genuinely done so much damage to my psyche i cant say dude wwithout it briefly flashing into my mind
"I don't mind trans people, I just don't want their existence shoved down my throat"
Brother, it's conservatives shoving trans people down your throat. They can't shut the fuck up about them. It's every political podcast, rally, and advertisement. It's all they think about.

last thing i'll say is that once again while everyone talks about the mailers, it's really probably exhausting for a trans person that it feels like every single piece of election paraphernalia is about them right now, especially in texas

Hard to overstate how much the Amy Acton Mom ad is what the modern GOP is about. All these anxieties about how people (especially women and children) might use their agency to break bonds of filial duty and free themselves, rather than be subject to control and abuse.
We sort of satirize them as the “you can’t groom my kids, that’s MY job!” Party, but this ad is very nearly that explicit argument. They don’t want schools to empower young people to find the autonomy to come out as gay or trans, they don’t want colleges to teach young adults about the breadth of the world and the human dignity of people from diverse backgrounds, they don’t want women to have financial independence and jobs and no-fault divorce.
At the heart of the GOP is this very straightforward premise: “there are some people whom it is my right to abuse. They are my property, and they owe me total obedience; freeing themselves from my abuse is a betrayal of natural hierarchy and divine law. You are trying to take my victims away from me, and I’ll do anything to stop you.”
