Sui On Campus

the first time i met @web3bard101 was at the sui hackfest lagos in 2024 where he came with his teammates from @payfrica. i remember @thompsonogoyi telling me about these three students from minna who were incredibly brilliant yet so humble. george became one of the most talented developers we had on @suioncampus and bringing him on as a devrel was one of the easiest decisions we ever made. when the opportunity to travel to dubai last year came, he was one of the first names we thought of because he was an example to his colleagues. it hurts me that someone with so much potential will not not get to see all he could have become. as a community, we will miss you deeply. rest in peace little brother.

so @CetusProtocol legit announced a $1m bug bounty and we are supposed to just ignore that? with the number of defi exploits we have seen recently, security deserves more attention. cetus recognizes that. dex’s are dealing with serious attacks from smart contract bugs, liquidity manipulation to reentrancy attacks that can put millions in user funds at risk. if you detect a critical vulnerability on cetus, you can now earn up to $$1,000,000 more than what was previously announced. given the recent wave of attacks, the timing could not be better. there will be more eyes on the code. more incentives for white hats and less incentive for attackers to find the bugs first. personally , I would rather see protocols spend money finding vulnerabilities than spend money explaining exploits after the fact.

while you are entitled to your opinion, i can only speak from my own experience with sui and its support for builders. i was part of the @suioncampus team for the last two years and i have seen firsthand @SuiNetwork support hundreds of projects through $1k, $2k and $3k grants. not every project survived but many are still building today. @Payfrica is a great example. -@uselinq also received a substantial grant last year that allowed them to expand. they have now processed over $200k in transactions and continue to build. - last year, sui sponsored three builders from our community to attend basecamp in dubai. they made valuable connections and eventually landed opportunities within the ecosystem. does @SuiFoundation do everything right? maybe not. but i think it’s important to acknowledge that things are rarely black and white. saying sui does noy support builders would simply not match what i have personally experienced. just sharing my two cents brother. take good care.

i get an average of four messages weekly from builders across all manner of consumer apps. honestly its getting hard to be surprised. with @Mysten_Labs building for scale, the signals are becoming hard to ignore. we are seeing… - infrastructure designed for mass adoption - hashi to maximize bitcoin yield - free stablecoin transfers removing friction for businesses. - confidential transfers entering public beta i expect to see many of these in the coming weeks. fade sui at your own peril!

anyone who hacks payments will dominate the world. yesterday we had a truly productive meeting with engineers from ml and the @uselinq team focused on sustainable payment rails for africa. the next wave of adoption will come from making payments cheap, fast and seamless. a huge announcement coming soon👀
