My contribution to the #FlashFlood is up! 😊
FlashFlood: 'The Gothic Heroine Takes Matters Into Her Own Hands' by Sarah McPherson dlvr.it/T8K1nt #nffd2024
I already own Table Manners, but if you don't, take advantage of this great offer and treat yourself to some fab short stories!
To celebrate this week of Table Manners on BBC Radio 4 Extra and @BBCSounds Sounds, my lovely publisher, @DahliaBooks , is doing a special offer on the book. Get it for £5 + p&p. It’ll make a lovely present for anyone who enjoys short stories 😊😊

Another craft post up on the blog - this time looking at lessons writers can learn from roleplaying games: theleadedwindow.blogspot.com…
Very happy to share that this year's #1KWHC e-book anthology, including my 4th prize winning story 'Seabird', is now available, and all proceeds go to the charity Trans Lifeline!

A new (or sort-of new) blog post from me, looking at the craft of writing fairy tale/myth retellings!

All emerging writers schemes should include writers over 40 – writers can emerge at any age, and women writers especially are frequently prevented from taking up writing until later in life (as we well know)!

My story placed 4th in this year's #1KWHC!! 😮🎉🎉
Congratulations to everyone in the @Wigleaf Top 50 (and on the longlist) this year! Delighted to have made it onto the longlist myself with 'She Eats Her Words', published by @MolotovLitZine 🎉🎉🎉

A rare day job post: Today marked the culmination of the @AdvanceHE Aurora women's leadership programme I started in March, with an in person session on 'Your Future in HE' - it's been a great experience, and really good to meet other participants in real life! #IAmAurora

I had the joy of picking stories for Matt's #Mondettes this month - a mix of things I've read recently and some older favourites! ❤️
This month's #Mondettes picked by the superlative @summer_moth
Ten wonderful flash fictions
Ten splashes of analysis
Three brilliant prompts

Great thread from @MkenWrites. I often feel like a bit of a flash evangelist, trying to sell it to everyone as something they should try reading, but it's true that a lot of people wouldn't know where to start - you can't just walk into a mainstream bookshop and buy a flash book!

🦊🌞Competition time! To celebrate Midsummer, I'm giving away a signed edition of my 'Reynard the Fox' book, a copy of the accompanying gold-tipped 'A Fox for All Seasons' journal, both with map endpapers & fine ribbons, packets of Organic Rosehip Tea and Strawberry and Cream White Chocolates, & a charming & extremely fluffy fox companion! Simply like, retweet & follow to enter! A winner will be picked on Saturday.🌞🦊
Yes! Flash fiction is amazing, flash writers are incredible, and more people should read their work!

Haven't had a chance to do much #NFFD2024 #FlashFlood reading yet, due to a combination of workshops and socialising yesterday - will be catching up over the next few days hopefully!
Very happy to have my own tiny droplet as part of the wave of brilliant stories by others 💙🌊

On the train and on the way to Birmingham for a day of @nationalflashfd fun! Excited to see writing friends and to have a story in the #FlashFlood later - will share the link when it goes up 😊
