It's with great pleasure that I announce I (Gamma Studios) handled the HDR implementation in The Sinking City 2, which came with Patch 1.1 on October 6th! I prepared an in depth blog post on how I approached HDR and all the challenges that came with it: gammastudios.tech/the-sinkin… The killer feature is my new tonemapper, Spectre, which fixes the handling of common failure cases like Fire and Blue->Purple shift in highlights, which are otherwise present in UE's filmic tonemapper (and in ACES 2 as well). There's also a section on how I improved the DLSS implementation, making it look extremely detailed, while retaining performance.
