This morning, the @surgfoundation team and leadership had a welcome chance to meet at our Geneva office.
We appreciate the opportunity for people to come together during #WHA76.
100 times more likely to die!
Caesarean sections (CS) can save the lives of mothers & newborns; when done safely & on time.
However, in low- and middle-income countries, CS often are NOT safe, with women facing mortality rates *100 times* higher than in high-income countries.
This new project, implemented with the Nepal Society of Obsteterians and Gynaecologists, aims to reduce the number of mothers and newborns who die or suffer complications linked to CS.
The project is supported by @EKFStiftung & #SURGfund.
