We’re proud of SPS’s Impaired Driving Unit (IDU) for receiving the 2025 Outstanding Traffic Team Effort Award from the BC Association of Chiefs of Police Traffic Safety Committee. In the unit's first full year of operation in 2025, IDU achieved substantial increases in impaired driving enforcement compared to 2024. Our thoughts today are with the families who lost loved ones, their colleagues, friends, and to everyone injured and affected by this terrible incident.
We had the privilege of having Chief Officer Susanne Muir of @TransitPoliceBC, Vice President of @Telus Legal and Regulatory Affairs, Maria Preovolos, and retired @VancouverPD Insp. Jess Ram, speak at the 3rd Annual SPS Women in Leadership Panel Event. Thank you to the panel for providing insight on how to navigate change, challenge traditional approaches to leadership, and build resilience in the face of uncertainty.
