Funny, coming from someone who’s generation likes to claim a lot of things for themselves.
When the Pumpkins became mainstream back in the early 90’s, a lot of the oldest Millennials were entering Junior High School, which was the prime “finding yourself” age for music.
I keep seeing Millennials trying to claim this as their music.
I saw them open for Guns n Roses in high school. Siamese Dream came out when I was a freshman in college.
Smashing Pumpkins are a Gen X band and the way the combined grunge, emo and punk, they are arguably the most Gen X band.
Everything about this video is Gen X.
IIRC, the Isuzu Aska was just a rebadged Honda Accord and the Mitusbisgi Galant Viento was just a standard Galant with the VR-4 appearance package.
For Fucks Sake, the Cash for Clunkers discourse has started again.
I don’t think it’s even been six months.
Not sure how I feel about this. 🤔
All electric "dry brakes" are here and will be appearing on many new cars in the future.
Fully dry, electro-mechanical systems (such as Brembo's Sensify and upcoming tech from ZF and Tesla) have entered production, signaling a shift away from the traditional hydraulic systems.
Simple translation is there is no mechanical or fluid connection from the brake pedal to the wheels, only wires going to electrically actuated calipers.
Traditional hydraulic fluid, master cylinders, and brake lines are completely eliminated. Instead, braking commands are sent electronically via software to independent electric motors mounted at each wheel caliper.
Some benefits include no more brake fluid flushes, master cylinder leaks, vapor lock, and corrosion from hygroscopic brake fluid and possible faster brake response time.
But many have worries about reliability concerns over complete reliance on software and wiring. Because there is no hydraulic backup if electrical power is completely lost, these systems require redundant power supplies, backup batteries, or localized capacitors to ensure safe stops.
What are your thoughts on this?
As a technician I have concerns, one of them being increased repairs costs for the car owner.
Of course in my box of cables there isn’t one Ethernet cord. 🙄
I should be getting at least 50Mbps over wi-fi. This will not suffice.
I truly still think to this day that Daimler Chrysler made a mistake not selling the 300 Estate here in the U.S. (with the Hemi of course, not the diesel Europe got).
This looked so much better than the Magnum.
Because a lot of us can’t afford a house and we work nearby.
They keep building them, because there’s a demand for them.
