Synspective has been selected for UNDP’s Japan SDGs Innovation Challenge to Support Sea-Level Rise Adaptation in Jamaica 🇯🇲 We’re partnering with the UNDP Multi-Country Office in Jamaica to support sea-level rise adaptation in the Portland Bight Protected Area, the country’s largest protected area. Using SAR and optical satellite data with AI, we’ll map coastal habitats like mangroves, seagrass beds, and coral reefs, track how they change over time, and rapidly map flooding after hurricanes and storm surges. We’ll work with NEPA, local authorities, and community partners, and the project runs through early 2027. On October 21, at the request of MLIT and the Japan Disaster Charter, our disaster response team observed the Koyoshi River and Yurihonjo area in Akita Prefecture with our StriX SAR satellite and delivered flood analysis results and a report. Timeline (Oct 21, JST) 21:25 Image acquired 22:56 SAR data and flood analysis delivered (~1.5 hours after acquisition) 23:20 Analysis report delivered (under 2 hours after acquisition) With heavy rainfall and flooding affecting many parts of Japan this year, we will continue to strengthen our capabilities from observation to analysis and delivery to support disaster response. #SAR #DisasterResponse #EarthObservation #Disaster

Only about 38% of Brazil’s surveyed highways are in good or optimal condition, and recent bridge collapses show what’s at stake. Routine inspections focus on the road surface. But failures often start beneath or beside it. Using satellite InSAR, we measure ground movement to the millimeter across thousands of kilometers of highway and thousands of bridges at once. In our latest analysis: 📍 Near Formosa, Goiás, we placed 900,000+ measurement points along a federal highway corridor and traced a subsidence trend along the road. 📍 On another stretch, the pavement held steady while the ground beside it sank by about 5 cm. 📍 At the Sena Madureira bridge in Acre, archive data showed the two banks pulling apart by roughly 3.5 cm in the year before it collapsed. Have you already watched our Executive Insights series? 🎥 Dr. Kumar Navulur, CEO of Synspective USA, Inc., sits down with leaders in the Earth Observation industry. Vol. 1, with GeoRobotix Inc. This conversation covers the evolution of SAR, open APIs and OGC standards for multi-sensor integration, and cross-domain tipping and cueing. ▶️ youtube.com/watch?v=b4c-nQ0u… Vol. 2, with an EO industry expert This discussion explores multi-modality for a resilient EO ecosystem, the coverage-versus-revisit trade-off, and solving the “last mile” for customers. ▶️ youtube.com/watch?v=OhcXa7Vc… Both conversations reach the same conclusion: no single sensor can do it all, and collaboration is what moves the industry forward. #SAR #EarthObservation #Space #StriX

Is space sovereignty about owning satellites, or about getting the data when it counts? In the latest Scenes and Signals article, Iain MacInnes, CEO of Synspective Europe, explains why most European nations need two things. They need their own small constellations, and they need assured access to commercial capacity on top of that. With assured access, they task what they need, downlink it directly, and own the data. Synspective CEO Motoyuki Arai spoke at an internal lecture titled "Quantifying the Earth to Create a Resilient Future," hosted by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation's Sustainability Innovation Group for all employees in Japan and those stationed overseas, with over 400 participants attending both online and in person. In his talk, he discussed moving beyond one-off support to solve social challenges through self-sustaining business models, as well as the importance of holding firm to the company mission while remaining flexible enough to pivot in response to change. He also discussed the "quantification of Earth" enabled by small SAR satellites and Synspective's approach to building data infrastructure for the future. Guided by our mission to create a new infrastructure that enables the next generation to understand our Earth and achieve a resilient future, Synspective remains committed to working alongside our partners to realize a sustainable future, powered by data. @ME_JP_official #sustainability #earth #mission

Synspective is launching a new program, "Synspective OMNIA," that lets governments and companies share the capacity of a SAR satellite constellation, securing priority observation and data rights over specific regions without the cost of building and operating a satellite system alone. Alongside our existing StriX constellation of 30+ satellites, we're building a new, dedicated constellation for this program to increase observation frequency, redundancy, and coverage for every customer. "We believe that in the years ahead, as the world faces many different risks, information from space should be used widely around the world. Synspective OMNIA is a system that lets countries and companies use space while keeping their own information sovereignty, and it is a concrete step toward that goal. By expanding our operations with a new constellation, we will build, together with partners, a system that can observe the whole globe, something no single country or organization could do on its own. The name "OMNIA," which we gave this program, reflects our wish to share all of our observation capabilities so that anyone can see and understand any place with their own eyes. It shows our strong commitment to our mission of building new infrastructure for the next generation." — Motoyuki Arai, Founder & CEO, Synspective Inc.
