Many of Africa's current presidents began their political journeys in their 20s and 30s, building strategic networks, creating systems, forging alliances with influential territorial leaders, and positioning themselves for national leadership. Fast-forward to today, and many young Africans within the same age bracket are busy fighting social media battles over other people's relationships, personal lives, and networth. Friends and comrades are becoming arch enemies in their quest to defend personalities who barely know they exist, engaging in tribal confrontations and arguing over issues that contribute little or nothing to their personal growth or the advancement of society. Even more disturbing is the growing culture of measuring influence by social media numbers. We have entered an era where individuals are celebrated as influencers and role models simply because they command large social media followings, regardless of the substance of their ideas, the strength of their character, or the value they bring to society. In a generation where toxicity attracts attention, controversy creates celebrities, and people deliberately chase clout through provocative content and public misconduct, we risk raising a society that mistakes noise for knowledge, popularity for credibility, and visibility for greatness. Meanwhile, many of the individuals whose decisions shape our economies, industries, institutions, and national destinies are not necessarily the loudest voices on social media. They are controlling resources, influencing the systems that determine our collective future, and, in most cases, strategically positioning their children to rule the next generation. While one generation is building structures to preserve its influence for decades, another risks spending its most productive years fighting over personalities, chasing online validation, and defending systems in which they have no meaningful stake, no decision-making power, and little influence over the direction or outcomes. The tragedy of a generation is not necessarily the absence of opportunities, but its failure to recognize what deserves its energy, and attention The real revolution begins when a generation stops competing for attention and starts building the systems and strategic networks that can empower it to shape its own destiny. Unfortunately, many have lived in pretence till it has become their identity.

It was a rare privilege to participate in the Cameroon International Tech Summit 2026, a major national event supported by international partners, including the US Embassy @USEmbYaounde , and dedicated to advancing digital literacy, technological innovation, and opportunities for the next generation. In a country where cryptocurrency adoption remains relatively low, with estimates suggesting that fewer than 2% of the population own digital assets, participating in conversations aimed at positioning young people for an increasingly digital and technologically driven world was particularly meaningful. However, beyond the summit itself, I saw an opportunity to contribute to a much bigger conversation. Given Cameroon's evolving regulatory environment and the absence of a comprehensive framework specifically governing cryptocurrency, there was understandably limited room for cryptocurrency-related discussions within the summit's official agenda. But where others might see limitations, I always see opportunities. 😅 I took the opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussions with some national stakeholders and leaders, sharing perspectives on the importance of developing a clearer regulatory approach to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Our conversations also explored the possibility of organizing a National Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Summit — a dedicated platform that could bring together policymakers, industry experts, innovators, entrepreneurs, and the general public to promote education, responsible adoption, and informed discussions about the opportunities and challenges of this rapidly evolving industry. And this brings me to something I've always believed: 🎗️ "Often, the greatest opportunity isn't in entering a market that's already established, but in helping shape that market while it's still emerging." That's how you move beyond being merely a participant to becoming a stakeholder in its future. And now, to my @Rockycatcoin family 🥊🐱 You can probably imagine what an opportunity of this magnitude could mean for #RockyCat if such an event eventually materializes, a possibility I'm genuinely optimistic about. An opportunity to contribute to national conversations, promote cryptocurrency education, build meaningful institutional relationships, and introduce our community-driven movement not merely to a broader audience, but directly to influential stakeholders, policymakers, and national leaders. Sometimes, all it takes is the courage to initiate a conversation, present a vision, and plant a seed. And when those seeds are planted in the right places, the possibilities can extend far beyond what we initially imagined. I'll leave it at that for now.
