10 stories to get to know talia al ghul, a thread! 1. detective comics #411 (1971) by denny o'neil, bobby brown & dick giordano — her introduction and the foundation for what would be a long lasting character with great importance to the bat-mythos

harmless fanart and whatever isn’t the problem, it’s bc bad faith actors use these ships as a shield to make it look like they actually enjoy both women when they clearly don’t. And that shouldn’t be a problem anyway as long as you’re not being weird about it

I think this is why I struggle w ships like talina or emmajean etc bc as much as I know they have genuine fans, TO ME it’s so inherently based around A Man that it’s just not enjoyable for me. That context can’t be removed

talia x shiva is better and doesn’t have any man attached to it in such an inherent manner the way talina does

talina yuri is fun until you see someone who was liking posts with racist and xenophobic rhetoric against talia larping as a neutral party who enjoys both characters

Someone loves me over country, over time and space Over lovers, over other hands on other waists Someone loves me over something that will never change

Honestly, too many "I enjoy them both!" & "they should kiss" truthers make it pretty clear they'll always like, try to understand and care for one explicitly more than the other. The latter typically gets the yuri equivalent of 'that's enough feminism for today.'

didn't give my two cents on the damian's mom discourse since i was focusing on more important things but i think the discussion is utterly stupid when 1) damian doesn't exist without talia & 2) being a mother hasn't narratively benefited talia in any way so idrc about it

and it isn't reserved to talia, i feel like a lot of female characters suffer writing-wise when they have children so i fail to see the appeal in calling for more of them to become mothers but to each their own i suppose
