Most dashboard projects start the same way… auth, layout, forms, tables, filters β€” over and over again. So I built something to fix that πŸ‘‡

My sermon today is simple: stop waiting for the β€œright time.” I was somewhere earlier this week and a friend of mine wanted to connect with a big-time CEO. The man was sitting all by himself after his presentation, just enjoying the rest of the event. When I asked my friend why he hadn't made a move to engage him yet, he said he didn’t know if it was appropriate to approach him in the hall. He was actually waiting for the man to start leaving so he could follow him out. There is almost nothing like a "right time" for something you genuinely want. β€œOh, when I turn 30, I will start a business.” β€œOh, when I am very good at writing, I will publish a book.” β€œOh, when I finish school, I will start applying for internships.” β€œOh, when I buy a car, I will talk to the babe.” β€œOh, when I finish learning Excel, I will start building projects.” All of these are just lame excuses we give ourselves, and they only drift us further away from getting what we actually want. Even me, I am guilty. So, what have you been hesitant about? Baba, go and do it jare πŸ˜‚

Attended an event solely to network with one of the guests and talk to him about my book. I accomplished that mission just about an hour after getting there. Everything clicked and we connected well. The trick that has always been working for me is to start the conversation on a common ground. What we both have in common. After complimenting his rich presentation, I told him we have the same middle name πŸ˜‚ And that was the entry point. Take this as your first lesson on Networking 101. Firstly, I had to accept the fact that the proximity we enjoyed 3-5 years ago, we can't enjoy it again. There was a time we all stay together, and do everything together but that time has gone. Also, the relationship/friendship wouldn't be as strong as it used to be. Accepting that reality, for me, is the most potent way to deal with it. Then, the intentionality you mentioned. I start making conscious effort that there is check-up here and there. There is a group chat you can always go and rant and drop funny stuffs. Doing that constantly still keeps your mind attached. The joy is to all meet at the top. So, we can accommodate for everybody to go and figure out their shit now. Until we are able to buy an estate and all live together there, we keep grinding!
The seasons that come with adulthoodπŸ™‚ How are you navigating this season of life? I’d love to hear your experience. Share with me in the comments.

You would never throw your hard-earned money into the trash, yet you throw away your good deeds daily through gossip, backbiting, and online arguments. Your tongue can build a palace in Paradise or burn down a lifetime of worship in seconds. Speak good, or choose silence.

Spot on. Academic success should never come at the expense of a child's faith, yet this dilemma is entirely structural. We cannot completely blame parents when the reality is that many Islamic universities in Nigeria currently struggle to match the infrastructure, funding, and global prestige of their Christian counterparts. To protect our youth's identity, we must fix the root causes. 1. Brilliant Muslim academics and professionals often prefer corporate experience or established institutions over Islamic universities due to poor remuneration and research funding. 2. Wealthy Muslims readily build local mosques, but we drastically underfund institutional endowments, cutting-edge laboratories, and competitive faculty salaries. 3. Some institutions confuse strict, rigid policing with genuine spiritual nurturing. We need environments that intellectually defend Islam against modern doubts, not just enforce rules. What is the Way Forward: 1. Elite Muslim scholars and top-tier lecturers must see teaching at Islamic universities as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah. 2. We must pivot wealthy philanthropy from building third and fourth mosques in the same neighborhood toward funding world-class university chairs and tech hubs. 3. Build vibrant and intellectually stimulating campus cultures that make practicing Islam look sophisticated, modern, and intellectually superior. 4. Islamic universities must actively secure affiliate partnerships with top-tier and globally recognized Islamic institutions and Western tech hubs. This instantly elevates their curriculum, offers double-degree programs, and provides the prestige that ambitious parents and students crave. We must build environments where our children don't have to choose between solid academic degrees and their faith. Guidance is from Allah, but the infrastructure is on us.
One of our sisters enrolled her daughter in a well-known Christian secondary school, undoubtedly one of the best schools in the area. The girl was in the junior secondary classes and lived in the boarding house. As a result, she stopped attending Madrasah, no longer wore her αΈ₯ijāb, and was not allowed to fast during Ramaḍān because of the school's policy. She also began learning Christian hymns and participating in Christian prayers. Despite repeated counselling, the situation continued until it became evident that, within a relatively short period, the girl had almost completely adopted the religious practices and outlook of the school. Realising the seriousness of the situation, her parents eventually withdrew her from the school. Without any disrespect whatsoever to Christians or Christianity, it is important to recognise that Christian schools have their own values, beliefs, and traditions which they sincerely seek to impart to the children under their care. They are not necessarily being unfair by maintaining their religious ethos. After all, parents who choose such schools generally do so knowing the character and identity of the institution. It would therefore be unrealistic to expect those schools to alter their programmes to accommodate every family's religious expectations. Mutual respect requires us to acknowledge these realities and make informed decisions, especially when our faith is a central part of our lives. For this reason, unless there are compelling circumstances, Muslim parents should carefully consider the long-term religious implications before enrolling their children in institutions whose ethos may conflict with Islamic beliefs and practices. If, upon reaching adulthood, a child freely chooses another faith, that is a personal decision for which they bear responsibility. However, while children are still under their parents' care, Muslim parents have both the right and the responsibility to provide them with a sound Islamic upbringing, nurture their religious identity, and instil a firm consciousness of their faith.

Your code doesn't just need a health score anymore. It needs a bouncer. Iris 1.0.0 ships with Git hooks and build hooks that block bad code before it is pushed or built. Hardcoded secrets? Flagged and penalised. Inline diagnostics? Right in the editor, same as TypeScript. No AI. No cloud. Just your code, a score, and a gate. JS, TS, Go, Python. Free β†’ iriscode.co
