A dear friend of mine lives there! He’s in the teen floors and able bodied but it’s still a nightmare.
It’s similar to a building in NYC four years ago that was dubbed “high rise hell”

every single elevator is now out at LPM apartments in loring park, minneapolis, the 36 story tower built only last decade. 354 units!
really infuriating for the residents here. anyone disabled is basically trapped inside of their apartment until they can fix this. people could miss work!
i’ve written about negligent landlords in loring park before, but have only seen conditions like this in buildings 40+ years old. LPM was only built in 2014, and for the second year in a row at heating switchover, the elevators went out due to the glycol system (coolant) rupturing and causing this leak. all the elevators were out and it’s a 36 story building! tenants say that weidner delayed recommended maintenance last year
we stopped at longfellow school, which was slated to close in all 3 of the minneapolis public school district’s transformation plans, and christin crabtree explained why it is special, like how it serves teen parents to keep them in school
“this kind of school is transformational in itself and should’ve never been slated for closure.”
thanks to everyone who joined the school spirit spooky bike parade with christin crabtree, becca dryden and shannon gibney today!! we even had some bonus neighborhood kids join at one playground stop and come along for the ride. love to see there are still adventurous kids free roaming because this is a safe place
TODAY! school spirit: a spooky bike parade for public schools, DJed by dev! we meet at sullivan STEAM school at 1:30 and roll out at 2pm. wear your costume! family friendly!!
we are supporting the parent slate of minneapolis school board candidates, christin crabtree, becca dryden, and shannon gibney
thanks to joyful riders for all their support

We can honor their memory—and also the memories of Marcia, Mary, Tom, and Will—by working to ensure that organized people can beat organized money once again in Minnesota.

Paul Wellstone's last campaign was my first.
I’m so grateful for the opportunities the young organizer in this photo was given because of Paul and Sheila.

Glad they unearthed the black and white high school yearbook photo but it's only going to increase the weaponization of federal law enforcement when Trumpers realize Ilhan Omar was the girl in high school who wouldn't give them the time of day.
with the reconstruction happening at the basilica you can see the foundation because they’ve removed the steps leading up to the church. they’re just sitting in the yard still (bonus bunny)
#OnThisDay Oct 24 1912: Sheet 48 of order no. 24800 "Erection Plan for Dome of Pro-Cathedral Minneapolis, Minn" is signed off.
council vice president jamal osman speaking to stevens square org about the task force doing a PIT maneuver on lake street which caused flashbacks and a lot of confusion and fear from residents who thought it was ICE and who still have a very real fear we will see another operation metro surge
