Its a wrap on #GDAR2024 Annual Network Meeting! We'll share more over the next few weeks but first a HUGE thank you to Aarika Sing @WitsUniversity @WitsPricelessSA and Kenneth Anujuo @MRC_Epid and the full committee for organising such a fantastic and well-run event

Day 4 included a panel discussion between our #GDAR2024 PIs who shared their GDAR journeys, including learning new methods and making transdisciplinary connections. Its not always easy in a large network but, as aptly summed by @vickilambert , "the challenges are opportunities"

Our annual meeting at GDAR included a deep dive into sense-making from years of research since 2017. A complex but rewarding task! A key point that emerged: the importance of improving how we communicate science to the world. #GDAR2024 #Research #ScienceCommunication

🧵 Yesterday, I had the chance to present preliminary results from my project at the Fira d’Andorra, assessing the walkability of Andorra la Vella for older adults 👫
🛣️ We also analyzed sidewalk materials, balancing aesthetics and practicality. Many older adults, for example, prefer asphalt, which offers more grip than the current tiles.
🔜 Looking forward to sharing the final results soon! Thanks to the @AndorraCapital for inviting me to present my results and to @GDARnetwork and @loudoestweet for all the support in the science.
🌟 This week, we held roundtables with 100+ seniors from @AndorraCapital! Listening to their voices🗣️ and exploring ways to make the city more accessible and supportive as part of the aging-friendly cities project.
Catch me tomorrow at Fira d’Andorra at 18:00 to learn more!🎙️
Did you know that Andorra la Vella is part of the global network of aging-friendly cities and communities by the WHO?
Recently, we held the first Advisory Committee meeting, bringing diverse stakeholders to revive the “Andorra la Vella, Ciutat Amiga de la Gent Gran” project 🧵 – at Andorra la Vella, Andorra
We were fortunate to have the founder of Territages, Romain Mielle-Chirouze, join us, who brings valuable insights from his work in age-friendly environments. 🌍

The stakeholders were very excited, we are very excited, and you should be too! 🎉 If you want to find out more, stay tuned for our presentation on Saturday, October 26th, at la Fira d’Andorra (shorturl.at/3FWdc).
