Maryland State Leadership Academy Session 2
Today at Maryland State Leadership Academy Session 2 was truly a meaningful day of learning and growth. I gained a deeper understanding of how important it is for instructional leaders to have a strong grasp of academic standards in order to lead effective teaching and improve student outcomes. We also explored the importance of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) and how they support strong instruction, along with the value of MTSS and tiered supports to ensure all students receive what they need to succeed. Analyzing student work samples gave me practical insight into using evidence to guide instructional decisions and better support both teachers and students. What made the experience even more impactful was hearing the unique perspectives of instructional leaders from across Maryland, which broadened my thinking and strengthened my leadership lens.
I was also incredibly honored to be interviewed by Jill L. Snell about how this program is shaping not only my own journey, but also the future of aspiring school leaders. It was truly an inspiring day that challenged me to continue growing with greater purpose and intention.

So thrilled to have bumped into my former high school students, the Epps twins(a true PGCPS alumnus)! It feels like just yesterday, but it’s actually been five years. Moments like this remind me of my “WHY”and why I love what I do.
Hearing that they still remember me and the lessons we shared in class means more than words can express. It’s a powerful reminder that the impact of teaching goes far beyond the classroom.
Wishing these amazing young individuals nothing but continued success and happiness in all that life has to offer. I am so #PGCPSPROUD of them. Keep shining, Epps twins! Once a lion, will always be a LION! 🦁 @pgcps @LargoLionsHS
Tonight, I listened to two school leaders I admire, Dr. @RachelEdohoEket and Dr. @TangieScales. They discussed various strategies for delegating tasks. My main takeaway was that strong schools are built on shared leadership. As a school leader, I can’t do everything alone, and I shouldn’t have to. It’s our job to empower teachers and staff, delegate with trust, and build genuine buy-in; the whole school moves forward together. Leadership isn’t about control; it’s about collective impact. #SchoolLeadership #Teamwork
Supported our fifty newly certified and renewal Filipino-American National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) at @pgcps by presenting them with roses in recognition of their exceptional achievement. We are so #PGCPSPROUD of you all! @MentorTeacher4 @Maidenmd1 #PGNBCT

Today, I participated in a collaborative meeting with my Biology teachers where they revisited their Quarter 3 goals for SY26 and defined targeted strategies to achieve them -including coordinated curricula, formative assessment plans, and student-centered lab experiences. This strategic alignment positions them to improve instructional coherence and student outcomes.
Pause & Reflect: How do you ensure team goals translate into classroom impact?

Dr. MLK taught us that injustice anywhere threatens justice everywhere. Many Asians and Asian- Americans in America still face invisibility, bias, and violence. Moving forward means solidarity-listening across communities, standing up for one another, and choosing courage over SILENCE! 🤫🤐✊ #MLKDay #MLK2026 #silencenomore
