Some also pointed out that, despite his sincerity toward GOT7’s group activities, the controversies that arose in his private life had disappointed his fans. Speaking about the controversies surrounding his past private SNS, he said, “I think I was careless back then. I really feel that I should have been more mindful of my responsibility toward myself.” “Actually, when I’m not promoting, I don’t really think of myself as a celebrity. For example, it’s the same when I walk around the streets of Hapjeong. Ever since I was young, I’ve never really thought, ‘I’m a celebrity.’ If anything, I tried to behave like I was nobody, but I’ve come to realize that I should have lived with a certain awareness of my position.
