I’ve been spending a few days reflecting on why the @testingUY conference felt *so different* to me compared to most events I go to (I have 1-2 events most weeks!) Three things I settled on finally: 🎲 For their 10 year anniversary the organizers had a goal that they wanted all the attendees to feel like a part of putting on the event, not like an audience member…so instead of talks, they had a keynote, a few panels and the rest of the time were interactive learning games around software development. People loved this and felt energized all day! At the closing remarks, the room was as full as it was for the opening keynote! 🧠 Each session was about thought leadership, not selling a product. In fact, zero product names came up all day and the whole theme of the conference was around best practices on various kinds of software engineering from the attendees. It was ALL about learning and zero about selling! 💝 Care. The care the organizers put into making sure the attendees felt welcome! For us out-of-owners, they organized a walking tour of Montevideo for people to get to know each other and see the beautiful city Thank you @claubs_uy and @GSkrilec for an unforgettable week. I absolutely loved this event and can’t wait to do more with LATAM and AI! 🫶🏽 – at Queens, NY

Que magnifico dia 2 a “Uruguay AI Week” 🤖First was saying words to Microsoft Partners and customers about AI, Copilots…and what to prepare for next at the Microsoft Uruguay Innovation Lab 🥘Then, fabulous lunch where I got to try empanadas, fainna and Milanese (local food here is DIVINE!) 🎤Then was a fun interview talking about what the future of software looks like in the AI-verse 👯Finally closed out the day with a lovely speaker dinner where I got to meet my incredible and world-famous @TestingUy speaker friends. Keynote this morning starting at 9:30 am sharp. See you live and on the livestream! 💝 – at Montevideo, Uruguay

Day 1 of “Uruguay AI Week” 👩🏽‍💻 Amazing conversation about the role of AI In Product Design and Data Analysis with established startups @uxdivers and @montecarlodata 😁 Incredible parilla lunch, helados and tour of Montevideo with the @testingUY team 🫶🏽 So much fun presenting to startup founders at the Universidad ORT Uruguay Startup Incubator on what AI will mean to startups this year Three things I said over and over: 1. Don’t try to replace every part of your biz with AI today, start with the boring admin work 2. AI tools are changing HOURLY (Chatbots! Assistants! Agents!). The best thing to do is learn the basics and how AI & ML REALLY works vs relying on a black box 3. The most important part of your business will be the human part. Human touch + content created and curated by humans will carry a premium price tag. Don’t give up that part! 🙏 So much gratitude to the organizers for babysitting me today. Can’t wait to see what Day 2 holds 👀 – at Montevideo, Uruguay
