🇫🇮 The Mayor of Tampere has proposed that Russian figure skaters should not be issued visas for the 2027 World Figure Skating Championships.
The Mayor of the Finnish city of Tampere, Ilmari Nurminen, has submitted a proposal to Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs calling for visas to be denied to Russian figure skaters ahead of the World Championships.
“We have approached the Ministry for Foreign Affairs with a proposal not to issue visas to Russians. It is still unclear whether Russian athletes will take part in the World Championships. We need a government decision stating that visas will not be issued to athletes representing Russia - that would resolve the issue.
We do not want a situation in which Russian athletes arrive here, because in that case the entire problem would fall on the city,” Nurminen was quoted as saying by Iltalehti.

Born in August 2025. Her mother — Inna Maryukhna, 28, a primary school teacher at Novovodolazkyi Lyceum No. 1.
On October 19, 2026, a Russian drone struck the central park in Nova Vodolaha, where families with children were walking. Angelina was in her stroller. She died instantly. Her mother died later in the hospital.
This is the true face of Russia. Killing innocent people is their number one goal in life.
Two lives that still had so much light ahead of them.
Eternal memory to Angelina and Inna.

March 12 marks the day when Tigran Ohanyan and Mykyta Khanganov, two 16-year-old schoolboys from Berdiansk, first said “no” to the occupiers by tearing down a pole with the russian tricolor.
It was the beginning of their heroic resistance.
Later, the russian occupation authorities opened a case against them for “terrorism.”
They were abducted, tortured, and held under constant pressure.
On June 24, 2023, russian forces shot them dead in occupied Berdiansk.
They didn’t give up. We will not forget.
In 2025, they were posthumously awarded Ukraine’s Order of Freedom for their courage.
