Cecilia and I are deeply saddened by the passing of Justice Kristin Guiney.
I was honored to appoint her to the 232nd District Court in Harris County. She dedicated her life to public service as a prosecutor, trial court judge, and Justice on the First Court of Appeals. She also gave generously of her time to Star Court, helping those less fortunate build better lives.
Her fairness, tenacity, and brilliance will long be remembered. Our prayers are with her family.
